Beware of this part, I bought one and it was next to useless so went in the bin.
I think maybe the original is put in before the stud at the factory. The replacements have to be 8mm+ I.D. to go over the threads, but the waste at the bottom of the stud is smaller. From memory they were even too small O.D.
In the end I made my own on the lathe. The correct O.D. on the outside, and threaded the I.D. so it screwed to the bottom but gripped the waist.

I’m still plucking up the courage to match my transfers.
I reakon the cases would be around 2mm thick in places after doing this.
Do you know how thick yours are now?

Jon Hi Jon Crap pic but you can see mine here If you are concerned you could use a smear of 3 bond on the gaskets to stick them in place A Siamese gasket from Rob will help the centre. You could also epoxy the bit at the front for support Steve

marrcel I know there is far more than 2mm on the gasket face, but I’m on about the wall thickness below the gasket face. Jon

Ive done plenty of the matching and never had an issue Jon. Im not sure where you are seeing the 2mm thickness, most of these crankcases are much thicker than that in this area when done. That said you may need (want) to use angles and not just go straight down etc. But thats also about flow as well as removing the restriction.
