Tie bars were added because of problems with engine vibration cracking the stock exhausts. They beefed up the exhaust flanges at same time.
If you are running aftermarket exhausts you will be ok, but for stock pipes you may want to think about adding the tie bars.

Non tie bar bikes crack the exhausts, my first 250 did this.

I would seriously advise adding tie bar brackets if your crankcases have the bosses for them, if you intend to paint/powder the frame.
If not as said with aftermarket expansions you probably won’t have a problem.

No tie bar brackets on mine, Gibson exhausts, and as pointed out by others, not an issue with non standard pipes.

If you watch a bike with no tie bars on the dyno you will see the engine moving a lot! Definitely worth fitting the tie bars. I am just adding them to my current bike before fitting a YPVS engine.

I have also noticed small engine movement due to the two long bolts engine bolts not being tight enough. I think this is an area most people tend to be lax in. Use a torque wrench for these 2 bolts and nuts.

I can't say I noticed any difference to ride between a tie bar and non tie bar LC, the exhausts only crack if they're one piece like the standard pipes, I had a non tie bar 350 with Microns for 2 years with no problems and it was the only transport I had at the time.

You could try getting them made. I spoke to a welder/fabricator I just used (thanks to Dusty for the intro), showed him pictures of the tiebars on a mates bike and he said he'd have no problem fabricating the tiebar brackets on the frame when I get round to doing it. BTW There were improvements made to std pipes to stop the cracking on pre tiebar bikes, Im running the later reinforced standard pipes with no tiebars at the mo without problems
