My brother bought a RZ350 in boxes last summer and we have been working at it during the lockdown. I’ll get some pictures the next time I’m over and post them up.
It came with a set of Athena cylinders and a +4 Hotrods Crank so should be 421cc. It also came with a set of pipes that were made by Shearer. I have not seen any of his stuff on a street bike although I think he is supposed to make good pipes for Banshees but I don’t know.
He had it Powder Coated and its almost back together.
There were originally a set of PWK33’s on the bike and the seller kept them, but it did come with 2 sets of Mikuni carbs and a billet manifold. The carbs are VM32's and VM34’s. He didn’t want to spend any more money on it at the moment so wants to use a set of those with foam filters. The bike is running pre-mix. It looks like the carbs have standard jetting as the 32’s have 200 mains with a Q-6 needle Jet and a 6DP17 needle and the 34’s have 260 mains with a Q-2 needle jet and a 6DH04 needle.
I know this is a really tough question without knowing a lot about the motor or the pipes, but what would be the better carbs for a 421, the 32’s or 34’s? Also, what would be a good safe starting point for the jetting. Both seem like they may be a little lean.
Any insights or experience you have would be much appreciated as I really have no idea where to start.
Thanks , Brian

You may well find that the 32 and 34 fit the same manifold as the outlet is the same size. Ive found that some carbs are built in 'ranges' like that so 2 or 3 sizes use the same body etc.
I would use the 34s, why use 32s when you have 34s?
No idea on jetting, sorry.

Thanks Jon. You are right. Both spigots are around 40mm so they both fit the manifold boots. I was leaning towards the 34's myself as its quite a big motor and the manifold will allow them to clear the clutch arm so no problems there.
I'll also search some of Banshee forums for jetting as Shearer pipes seem to be quite popular on those

I was able to get some feedback about this on one of the Banshee boards. I guess the 421 is a common upgrade for that bike. I'll post it here as it may be useful to someone else
The general feedback was to start with the mains in the low 300's - Maybe 330 and work down. It seems like around 310 was common with those pipes. They also recommended 6F9 needles, Pilots between 30 and 40 and start with the air screw 1.5 turns out.
Its a starting point so when Its running I'll post back with the final settings
