Hi just a quick one Doing a bit of development work with a guy on FB as he wanted some non standard cases for his Koso clocks but he also wanted the cases in black The cases are standard fit in the original clock outer case but the original rear boss is removed and all other hole removed to allow him to fit the instrument and just add holes for the wirings etc Just though if anybody else was interested and if you are just drop me a pm Stay safe all Best wishes Al

Hi Dusty
As usual I cannot take the credit for the idea itself just another 2t enthusiast that wanted something different that I can help out with and maybe share the idea with others, as with these cases you don’t need to strip an old set just for the case for your Koso parts

Also as I can also supply a replica light holder All you would need for a complete clock assembly is the Koso clocks and cases , the outer cases from Norbo, this bulb holder part and a made up up a bulb loom 👍

Great Idea. Its not always easy to fit different clocks in the LC cases and this converter would help a lot.
When I did my GPS Speedo I struggled with this and had to find a solution so know how useful this will be for people.

Hi all Just a quick update The final design for the Koso clock mounting cases is all done and looks spot on (They will require some holes adding in the back for mounting the clocks themselves as shown in the below photos but other than this they are a direct fit in the original outer cases) For those that have been in contact, now the design is finished and has been test fitted I will be in touch when your order is ready Cost will be the same as the standard clock cases at £20 each plus post Any questions please feel welcome to ask Have a good weekend and stay safe Al

Looks like More time is needed time learning the finer aspects of slicer settings. The print quality /finish, while decent/usable, can be improved on.

Ha ha im on here to Alan. I asked Alan to help as i wanted the Koso set up on my hybrid but didnt want to fabricate new brackets etc. I wanted these to fit the standard bracket so we took a standard housing that Alan produces and i measured the changes required and Alan made three prototypes until we got it spot on. Only slight pain with Koso is they mount their reset buttons on the side so it means drilling two 4mm holes to allow access. otherwise im very happy with how they turned out. I think these look fantastic and are a great alternative to standard clocks.
Are they difficult to wire up, if you didn't want to butcher original clock/wiring are the connecters/parts needed hard to get?

Mouse Cant answer that yet Mouse as i haven't even built the bike yet lol Just gathering parts so i can hit the build running. Dont think it will be that hard. Rev counter runs off the coli wire. Speedo runs off a wheel sensor. The centre instrument panel is existing so thats just plug and play as normal. Full wiring instructions are included in the Koso box. Ive spoken with digital speedos today to see if we can achieve some club discount - fingers crossed. Watch this space.

Fantastic saves fabrication of a stepped plate to fit the koso clocks into the std binnacle. Took me hours to fabricate mine in alloy. Brilliant bit of work. 👍

I agree this is great news for those wanting to run more modern clocks, its a great product to help you hide these clocks in the currently available clock covers.
Vic, when you do the wiring and get these clocks working can you note which colour Koso wire goes to which on the LC loom plug? I'm sure that info would help those on here who are electrically challenged. Also for those doing this, if you can find the right plugs (old looms maybe, or from the net suppliers or 3d printed) then you can make these units plug and play very simply to the OEM loom. Please no cutting, twisting and taping, choccy blocks or scotch locks lol
The only thing i reckon that needs a bit more thought is the speedo button press holes. I suspect there is way to making something that is a little more attractive using some black plastic dowel and something to put (glue?) into the housing to hold those in place over the clock buttons. Perhaps some kind of seesaw plate with and the dowels attached that would allow you to push one or the other button with gloves on? or even just some printed dowels with a thicker end to keep them captive in the cases when building up, could have some rubber bellows on them to keep the rain out etc. Just thinking out loud here...
Else is there no way of tapping into these function switches and cabling them to some other units on the bars? they look like momentary switches and there are quite a few good options available on the net, the moto gadget ones look lovely, if spendy lol. Perhaps Im over thinking this, maybe guys are happy to prod something thru holes in the clocks...

As 'jonw' says, when you do get these wired in and working, perhaps you could add the 'how to' to the other excellent info you have posted? Mouse

Now jonw, you have me thinking now 🤔
Drill the button holes, bond in tubes then pancake head dowels to operate the buttons 😀

Something like an upturned unused rivet would work. the rivet would be captive in the cases and the shank would stick out. cut to length. This is a simplified idea and larger thicker buttons would be better.

Just throwing this in the idea pot p erhaps something like this could be made to fit, it’s off a gameboy console don’t know the size etc but at £2.56 on eBay cheap as chips, my koso clocks are mounted higher so I can get at the buttons.
