Hi everyone, I've been checking my crankcases for (further) damage and discovered what looks like a small groove where the bearing sits on the right hand side of the crankshaft. Its in the notch where the bearing 'pin' sits. Will this need to be repaired or can i fit bearings with the larger 'pins'. I was going to get an exchange crank from norbo if anyone knows if they have the larger pins on the bearings. I've seen on here that a small amount of threadloc can be used to stop the bearing spinning in the groove. Is that correct? 040DED33-A558-4B52-86BA-7839E114E574 by James Smith, on Flickr 38AA37DA-5174-4F37-BE0C-909611B19595 by James Smith, on Flickr Thanks Jim

I'd buy the crank and see which pin it has
The genuine ones Only had a little ball bearing
ID just use a bit of bearing lock on that bearing
The hot rods cranks come with no pin on that bearing
Would only try and spin if there was a bearing failure
Gearbox outlet and clutch bearing have no pins

Hi , i had this years ago . When i had my crank rebuilt i mentioned this to the chap doing the work and he said he has seen this many times . He said he would fit a Suzuki Rgv 250 r/h main on that side these have a roll pin . The thing is the pin if i remember right is on the groove side . I ended up filing a small notch in the case for it with a needle file . Easy enough to do .
