Had a fray bentos steak n kidney pie yesterday followed by a curry pot noodle in training. Those things are bloody dangerous. I came home one night late from work feeling tired and hungry. I thought i would just eat my last Fray Bentos. Put it in my combi microwave on oven function and started reading this forum. All of a sudden there was a large bang and the lights went out. I found a torch and took a look in the kitchen, the door was missinf from the oven. I found it on the floor with the twisted wire pedestal that was supporting it in the oven plus bits of Fray Bentos. After replacing the fuse that blew the true horror of the accident was witnessed. The oven was blasted back against the wall, the ceiling , floor, opposite wall and everything left and right of the oven was pebble dashed in Fray Bentos. It was a late day and i had to get up early for work, first i had to clean all that pie up. Normally its very easy to eat one on my own and still feel hungry. I always thought they were a bit small until i had to clean that mess up. i was then thinking how is it possible to make such a big mess with one pie. So my advice is double check that you remove the lid before you put it in the oven.

The fried noodles in Vesta Chow Mein were superb (I lived in a Suffolk village in the 1970s where the only takeaways were two Chip Shops)

"Pot noodles" are significantly better though and just about make it to being "a bit shite but edible"

I'd swop a testicle to get in the fat duck! Bit of a culinary "great reset" eh?? Knowing Heston he'd probably serve up said testicle, probably in an ice cream...
