Hi Guys, anybody know how much is taken off when they rechrome? I ask because I have a pair of DT175 forks which are badly pitted so not sure if they can be done, replacement stanchions seems not to be an option as they are rocking horse poo!
Also, are there other companies or just Philpotts??

The only hard chromers I dealt with stripped off all the chrome in a caustic bath
Then went through the replating sequence
Mind you they were doing D12 dozer and similar sized parts then
I believe its not as cheap a process as it used to be

I had a damper rod on an XR250 made by ABE, they did a good job, they rebuilt the shock as well, it was like a new one, I think it cost about £200 over 20 years ago

Legend sell copy's £150 per pair, not sure of their quality. On ebay. Other stuff I've bought from them is of good quality.
