no pics this year? you all too busy out there enjoying it? My brother sent me a picture of it in Yorkshire, and I do miss a cold Christmas... but after a few days on the Barrier Reef, and having just come back from the pub (no lock down here), I'm not missing it that much!😉

no pics this year? you all too busy out there enjoying it? By the way Jon, the Northconnex tunnel is amazing... that almost seamless link as you head south/north, driving under Pennant Hills at 80kmh linking from the M1 to the M2. Ahh... they should have done it years ago!

Shopping with the family before xmas was really just an excuse to head down the pubs in the city and chat and laugh, the weeks/months after were just too cold etc. not saying its warm here, were not locked down but we are at home to stay away from the spreaders in the shops etc. Its raining and 20deg here... Britsh summer for xmas... hmm..

We also have lights fazed so we can get onto/across it again. Its like 2005 again traffic wise.

Everyone is a winner there. What you gain regarding your neighborhood must be incredible. For anyone just trying to get though, it's amazing. Happy New Year, Jon.

Not much snow for me but feckin cold. Was -6 when I nipped out yesterday
There was a flurry of snow at the beginning of the week which froze then there has been a frost build every day
My car hadn't been used for about 10 days so I struggled to get into it. Let it run with the heater and electric screens on for half an hour and I still had to take an ice scraper to it
Was out about an hour and it still looks like an ice machine has taken a dump on it
Smart meter says I'm using £7 a day in power lol

Great pics Chris!
ToBy, it comes a bit later to you generally doesnt it? I always said first week in Feb was the time in Holland, or it was when I was there a long time ago.
Howard, I saw you guys were getting all the sun the rest of us were missing in Aus. Im not sure i love a rainy 20C, but I dont want 40C either. Hope you have the AC cranked up!

Looked out of the window this afternoon and thought...hmm, snow is on the way. And straight away it snowed! For a whole 10 minutes. Didn't settle, so I left the snowmobile in the garage for the time being...

Yes Jon, we had the aircon cranked up, it needed to be
We do get snow in the south of the state and it’s always a big news event when it happens, Bluff Knoll at a not so giddy 1099m
The closest we get to snow here in Perth are hailstones, some bloody big ones too, you know about them too Jon, it’s a summer treat more than a winter event for us on both sides of the country
I got caught in one about 10 years back in the sub tropics, the temp was in the high 40’s then, the noise as they hit the ute’s roof (hire vehicle luckily) was deafening and I just avoided the one that smashed thousands of cars and houses in Perth, saw a rider get caught in that one and he was filmed hunched over his tank to protect it from the hail, you could see his pain of them hitting him, he was nowhere near a bridge to shelter under, he’d have been black and blue by the time it finished, the tail end of his bike was a mess, lucky he had a helmet on, it could have been real nasty if he hadn’t, cricket balls raining down on you would not be fun
Enjoy your snow while you can, snowmen pics please, we all know your bike building expertise, let us see your creativity lol

Yes defo dont want hail and this is the time of year for it. I actually had a car get almost totalled by hail in German in 2009. Lovely BMW 330 M coupe that needed a lot of work after cricket ball hail turned it into a golf ball. no chance of running out to move a car when that comes down. We get that about once a year here in Sydney, but for months i have to run out and try and find cover at the local shops with under cover parking every time i get a warning. most of those panic trips are pointless but ive saved my car many times too. the noise of big hail inside a car must be deafening, Ive heard it inside my shed and it was bad. Having it hit you while on a bike would be just scary, without a helmet it could kill you.
