Just been offered a set of KYB USD forks in nice condition that are said to be ZX7R, but no idea about what these are like at all.
They seem to have adjustment on the top but not on the bosses on the bottoms. Had a look on google at pics and they do look like ZX7R.
So... interested to know if anyone has used them to good effect on one of our bikes?

Think they are preload adjust only
You can always use thinner oil to reduce the damping but think you would need lighter springs

Yes hear that and assumed as much re the springs. The pre load is like the RGV isnt it where you adjust the plunger in the top? These also have a screw in the top as well? Did wonder what the length of the units might be like as this page does attest to with some solutions: kzrider.com/forum/5-chassis/611307-lengthen-forks-for-zx-to-kz-swapI think these are 52mm all the way down, so RGV lower yoke would fit?

If they have an adjuster in the centre of the preload plunger it will be for rebound damping
Had them fitted to my RGV forks

Come to think about it I may have shims from a pair of headlight brackets to make them fit an RGV top yoke 🤔

Looking at the ZX7R sites it seems the top depth adjuster is actually not preload they say, its a height adjuster. Ahh so i could whip the tops out and fit em to my RGV forks and get part way to SPs?

Or did i mis remember that? If the top yoke is 50 it wont slide over the forks. Easy for me to test, but id have dig out an RGV top triple.

The ZXR 750 forks are nicer looking than the ZX7R ones, they are 50mm tubes at the top. 730mm from the top of the tube to the spindle centre. The K/M forks had compression adjustment at the bottom.

Im not 100% sure what these are, but was told they are ZX7R. They are USD and look like 7R/9R forks. they dont have any adjusters other than on the tops so maybe that clinches it. From what I can tell no one uses them for projects.
