If you are an Old git like me, there should be another option, saying - I had an LC when they first came out, but along with all my mates(who owned LC's) it was stolen.
Although I'm on my fourth LC (but first hybrid), my first was a revelation after a string of air cooled RD's.

reedpeteDoes an F2 count In your poll? If so I had one in 1989. Not what I’d strictly call an LC, but on topic I think? Jon

If the question means "Did I have a watercooled Yamaha?" Then yes I did. It was my 80cc race bike, an 80LC with a YZ80 engine. If it means did I have a non-powervalve 250 or 350 twin, it's "No". I bought one after 2000. 80cc Race bike.

Yes, intention was to include all 250/350 bikes, so stick it in there !
Now the poll has started it’s not possible to edit the questions but in hindsight it would have been best to include the 90s as a category time frame. Same with sell/stole, there’s probably something that could have be done differently. thoughts for other questions ...who has more than one? who has more than two , who has LC and ypvs Etc Etc . Then other touchy questions...how many miles a year? 😂 ....that would be one I’d have a rather shameful answer...

I’ve an idea for a separate poll, at least as controversial as the mileage one. Can’t remember if we’ve done it before though? Std vs non std.

Had a YPVS (LC2 1983) in the early 80's, mostly standard apart from a steering damper and some two stage reeds, couldn't afford a set of spannys as I was a student at the time.

It's nice to see that there are so many who have kept their original LC. Wish I was in that category.

IMBought new in 1983 , pictured having its first back tyre finished off, and it`s clutch burnt out. Bought with the compensation for being run over on the back of a mates bike and spending 6 months in plaster and 3 months in a caliper. Stolen in 1987

Bought mine in '85, it was the only transport I had for ten years, then got a car. The LC went at the back of the garage and never moved for ten years. Then I spent around a year rebuilding it. It's done less than a thousand miles since then, but I keep it insured, taxed and MOTed. It's nice to know it's there if I get the urge.

350lc, Mars bar colours with Ace bars, Baja red foam grips and a set of Microns, reg num SHE 592Y. Bought it from Charlie Freemans in Eckington (near Sheffield) for £995. Part exchanged a Suzuki GP 100. Sold it to a 72 year old bloke a few years later who wanted something for weekend fun.

Had a 125Lc mk1 as my first bike and then a triple stripe 350LC, which I sold for a GPZ. Funnily enough I came across the 350LC a couple of years after I sold it, and it had less miles on it !

I had so many 250 & 350 lc's in the 80s and 90s. Some 250s converted to 350s, i had an air cooled RD125 with a 200 engine in it, air-cooled 250 etc. Never had a 400 though...used to buy 350's for 350 quid they were so plentiful..bloody clocks fetch that now..crazy.

I had two RD 350 LCs back in the 80s (as well as an air cooled RD125 and RD250) and I have had about 30 bikes in total to date. This year nostalgia got the better of me and I now have a Mars Bar 1981 350LC after 35 years. Big smiles and a 2-stroke passion rekindled 1980s Yamaha RD350LC by Geoffrey Butler, on Flickr

Nope.
Bought a '75 RD350B in '95, got my TDR250 in '98, a TZR250 3XV in '06, and my LC in January 2019.
All but the RD350B are very rare grey market bikes here in the states.
I'd never even seen an LC before I went to look at the one I have now.
