For those with a fork swapped YPVS. I need some help. I’ve just mocked up a 2004 CBR1000RR front end and am now quite worried I’ve made a huge mistake. I chose the cbr due to its availability without really thinking there would be a huge height difference to say an R1 front end. But now when I do some rough measurements from the ground to the top of the bottom yoke I’m a good 100mm shorter than the standard forks. Could someone with a fork swapped bike. Say early usd R1 run a tape measure on their bike for me? I’m really worried now I’ve made a mess of things by not following the norm. Thanks Mick

Hi I just measured my Rgv forks on an Rd400. With the bike upright, and measured behind the front wheel from the ground to the bottom part of the frame the bearing race sits in, is 28"

4 inch is way too much
1 inch or even 2 is normal, you usually lose an inch with soggy sag anyway
Contact the guy at billet brain, he will do fork extenders

My Maxton RGV's are 32 inch from ground to top end of bottom yoke
My Fazer 600 hybrid is 33.5 which is near standard

Maybe I can get rid of the spacers under the top toke and slide the forks out. I may be able to get an extra inch out of it. All may not be in the bin yet.
Thanks Steve Do you notice much of a difference in handling between the two? Or an other side affects?

Billet brain will also do a stepped down yoke if you are stuck to drop them more
The standard forks sag a fair bit but think the RGV's are a couple inches shorter than standard but stiffer
The Maxtons are stiffer again so less sag again
Both bikes ride fine but I had to fit a damper on the RGV clad bike as it was a bit lively at speed
The Fazer one feels a bit less twitchy but steers faster than standard. The fork length is about the same as standard but the bike is jacked at the rear so same affect
You may be ok as long as you run a standardish rear ride height

I measured 740mm from.the ground to the bottom edge of the frame headstock, with the forks topped out, on a standard F2 ypvs. Sorry dont know how to add a picture.
