Seems like a great price for a new one. Wonder who made it? It's surely not NOS.

Checked recent feedback. Sold several grab rails for GT 750s. All positive. Presumably there is feedback for LC’s if you go far enough back. Just a thought!

You would think it would've been made the same shape ?. I need a grab rail but not with that shape at the rear !.

With the shocking prices of all new or used parts going through the roof I’m sure we’ll see more Tat like this coming on the market, but let’s face it,, not everyone wants to build a concourse machine So I’m sure it will suffice for those wanting a bike to own and use ( and still look presentable )🥴

Are there really no good ones left in the UK/EU region?
You can also powdercoat a ropey one say satin black if you dont want chrome, ie for a rider not a resto. Ive done that a few times now.

I thought Norbo's were made by the same guy who made the racks? if so he was in the UK and he should be contactable Id have thought. If Norbo doesnt want to buy more then maybe he'll help you deal directly with the guy? He did post on the forums as well early on if its the same guy, but I wonldnt think of trying to share his details if norbo is still working with him of course.

Looking at the listing, Dan/Legend seems to have sold all 36 of these, perhaps all his stock. wow. Im a bit blown away by that. What makes interesting reading is that he sold some in multiples, and did deals on them. So who bought 6 then? Will we see these appear on here soon in the sales section? So... 36 x £50 = £1800, less ebay and paypal fees (and 'special deals') its still 1500+ quid. Wonder what they cost to make? A grand all up maybe? so 50% profit before tax... sold in 2 days tho so good business. You'd be happy with that. On the face of it there doesnt seem like there would be massive profit in them and I'd never have thought youd sell 36 of them (not least in 2 days) when they look so lumpy I guess I know nothing about what people who own LCs actually want. If i saw one of them on a bike I was buying Id be thinking, 'that needs replacing' lol. Perhaps when fitted its less obviously poorly shaped? Norbo's were stainless, this legend version is just chromed steel i think? At least if you go aftermarket youd want to be gaining something materials wise if the shape was going to be wrong (norbos were a bit 'pointy' and I think he was a bit disappointed in that). So at least norbo's blokes version was polishable and would last, assuming they were of a decent grade of stainless - although i dont think it was ever stated in the ads. Bear in mind cheap chrome is often thin and flakes off, its poorly adhered directly to the steel and tends to rust readily as well. Plenty of cheap Chinese chrome parts fare badly on bikes, headlight rims, racks etc etc. Interestingly Yam built our bikes to a price and threw chrome plate at simple steel and it was often pretty poorly done, but the steel under it was usually good quality and that helped. Even after 40+ years you can polish up yams chrome and it will sparkle like new, even with rash and rust round the welds it can look great with a polish. Dont discount that manky grab rail at the bottom of a box of spares that milky and dirty, it may well come up like new...

I don’t know what the UK population of LCs is in the UK now, all I know I it’s huge, growing and we probably only represent a small proportion on here. I occasionally stray to FB and you can see another whole world /side to the LC mix out there...to the extent than in contrast to most here who looked at that picture and immediately though..‘close but not right or desirable’...I think many will probably not even realise the subtle shape difference or even care....I maybe getting picky in my old age but I prefer authentic (warts n all) over bad copy any day..

I hate to say it but I suspect most on here have probably had lc’s for a while and the knowledge is pretty high. Whereas there is a growing trend of I used to have/lust after one in the day. So people buying for a pure memory trip who don’t have the knowledge of what constitutes’right’. Classic example was the Lc I viewed for a member on here in my local village. The seller is a nice bloke had done a reasonable rebuild if you didn’t know what you were looking at but it wasn’t right if you know the bikes.

If you haven't got one , it is hobsons choice. At least they are available and a better substitute than nothing.

The bends at the back of that grab rail are crushed in slightly due the method of bending used. Not ideal, but better than nothing. There were some in the far east recently on eBay which looked better, but not been in stock for a while now.

Costs £50 to get one chromed these days so understand why these have been snapped up, despite the bend distortions.

Surely the manufacturer has a straight frame to try them on after manufacturing?? Not even a NOS one will fit on a bent subframe. It's hard to believe that they aint been offered up for a fit... Hope the subframe they "use" aint bent......

Probably not jigged correctly or assembled with an appreciation that the small tubes where the fixings go need to align with the mate on the opposite side. This is inevitable If you just ‘copy’ a grab rail without understanding the basics of the fit and form...you end up with a ‘grab rail shaped object’
