This would be easy to check if the engine was in the bike, but it isn’t, and the alternator stator is sat in the warmth on the dining table, so it isn’t easy to check
the original 4 pin alternator plug was melted, so have purchased new oem style connectors.
I I cut the old pins off and re crimp the new I am going to loose about 10mm of loom length , assuming the cable ends are ok.
Anyone know how much “slack” there is in the wiring from stator to the connector when it is routed and clipped in under the seat correctly ?
If if it is originally a very close thing I will have to use 3 new white wires a new blue wire to the connector, and join them to the original wiring. I would like to avoid this if possible, as the less joints the better.
Its going to be a good few weeks before the engine is back in the frame to check this, would like to get as many small jobs as possible out of the way before then.
Cheers
Doug

You should be ok if you have only shortened by 10mm. I have done something similar a few times before with the Yambits connector.

Either that or strip the original white and blue wires back to the stator windings and solder a new set in and crimp your new plug on, don't forget that the white wires are generic so can be placed in any order in the plug.
