Anyone got a Lidl Impact Wrench? £20 + another £20 for the battery and charger. Wondering if anyone has one and are they any good?

We have an importer of cheap Chinese tools here in the US named Harbor Freight. I have two air impact and two air ratchets from them. Worthless. BUT! I bought a 1/2" (110 V 60 ~) AC Bauer impact from them that is awesome! Rated 1050 ft-lbs breakaway torque and I think it delivers that and more. I would never put a nut or bolt back on with it! Battery-powered is convenient but how often are you away from an outlet and extension chord that you need an impact wrench? I got it on sale for ~$80 US.

The Aldi one is made by Einhell so not 'Chinese'. Have a good look at the Lidl version, it may be less Asian than you think.

I've got one from Lidl. Great little tool. Ideal for an engine rebuild which is what I use mine for. Ive bought a few different tools from Lidl / Aldi, and they've all been good value for money.

There are 2 available and are in stores from today. There’s a mains one for £39 and a battery one for £59. The battery one looks more flexible, however I have never had difficulty tightening nuts only getting them off, so £39 isn’t that bad and no battery to charge or replace after several years.

Interesting... battery one looks ok and goes to 400nm, unlike the corded one.
(bizarrely i cant see your link at all on my chrome rendering of this page, am i alone in this? Is this the same issue where i cannot see OEBs pics? I have to use the quote button and then copy the link and paste it into a browser window to see it. :/ )

I thought it said the corded one was 300, my bad. Maybe the one in the current Lidl mag is a different one to the one previously offered. For the money, I think I’ll get the corded one (next Thursday) I usually struggle with clutch nuts, Sprocket nuts and sometimes crank pinion nuts, so probably won’t get a massive use.

The battery one I got from Lidl a few weeks ago is made by parkside.... It is rated at 180nm not 400... It's an impact driver.... Not a vehicle wrench, but it does remove my car wheel nuts..... Wish I had known they did the more powerful one although the one I got was £20 cheaper...40 instead of 60 quid... It uses 1/4 inch drive ...... Hope it's gonna be up to the job of clutch basket..... Any thoughts ?

My thoughts are that the 1/4 inch drive would have been a bit of a clue here...no idea if it could do the clutch basket. Wheel nuts etc, forget it I'd say.

Dusty..... Do you use the Lidl impact wrench or impact driver.... I've just realised that they are completely different tools

I just purchased the 500nm Cabled Impact Wrench, as I'll only use it a few times a year for the odd stubborn nut removal etc. Just tried it on my Sprinter wheel studs (normally use a 3ft breaker bar) and it removed them dead easy . If you did go for the cordless version, it was good to see you could buy extra 20v 4AH batteries for just over £20.

The battery thing I find interesting. How do the big brands get away with charging 5x the amount (and often more) for batteries than Lidl/Aldi. The Aldi batteries have a LED display that tells you the percentage, my silly expensive makitas tell you when they are flat cos the tools stops.
