I would love these to succeed but unless less than 12k cannot see them selling many and a cannot believe for one minute they could even get close to that figure. Personally I would not want to be paying that much for a complete unknown. If it was a Yamaha or another one of the Japanese manufacturers then maybe. Pereguine Motorcycles unfortunately could not make a go of it. Although accept that was using 1980's engine as a base point and they were expensive. Does look good though.

I think it fits good with the cafe racer crowd except most of them want to plod along looking cool.
They're not the type to wring the poor bikes neck to get it into the power band holding on for dear life. Plus the maintenance will piss them off.
Ive seen the same KTM rep a few times at hipster events now, giving test rides of the Vitpil (400cc version) and i always have a chuckle because when Kees was still on his small bike licence the man told him how good the bike was etc. Kees took it for a ride and thought it was boring and slow. The rep was a bit disappointed at the reply Kees gave him.

Like the idea not so keen on the execution, i think it looks dated and as Tony says wrong bike for the intended crowd potentially also is the 'Hipster' crowd gravitating away from bikes now? They don't seem to be selling at the same rate that they had previously. Like all fashions they come and go, no doubt they'll be into electric skateboards with stabilisers , or unicycles with drinks holders for their oat milk skinny frapalappacunninglinguista chai's.

They all seem to be as veg said,, hipster,, all that retro ace cafe shite, cool if that's your scene but not mine so as said 12k to make a profit no doubt and its probs built good bit 12k is allot of pennies, that's presuming its around about there price wise,, but it looks more like half that, but we know it has quality parts ohlins carbon fibre ect, sadly I'm not a hipster so does not appeal to my yearn for motorcycles,, jeans rock port boots a brown leather jacket and piss pot lid,, sunglasses,, yeah look at me I'm a t**t lol,,, 🤮 sadly if you ride a harley or one of these your In the same book in my eyes,, oh I've got a hog I look so cool riding it no pal your a t**t,,, I've had bikes for years and I've noticed most bikers nod or wave when passing in opposite direction bot not scooters or it seam the lower cc, and everyone I know categorically do not nod to harley riders wonder why???, cos there t**ts mate lol so if you nodde to me on one of theses you would be blanked mate

I'm no hipster, dodgy hips maybe, and don't really buy into the cafe racer look, but I quite like this and its great that someone in the UK is making an effort to put together a production 2-stroke bike. The figures look pretty impressive. I wouldn't part with £12k if that's what they will cost, but wouldn't mind taking one out to see how it feels. I wish them good luck and hope to see a few on the road.

I used to work with a two lads who were bikers with Harley's in Holland and they always told me how much respect they had for British bikers as they always thought they used there bikes a lot more. I used to see these two bikers driving around in american cars more than their bikes. When i used to comment on it they just used to laugh. They were both members of Satudarah, completely different from the hipster crowd.

I spent the last 3 weeks in Amsterdam and i was gobsmacked by how many cafe racer /bobber type bikes i saw.

Cant be real hipsters then Tony We know that im a hipster (well ive dressed the same and looked the same for 30 years but apparently thats now cool until it isn't). In all seriousness i like the fact that someone is making a go of it, and maybe 'hipsters' are the new norm, in the same way when we wore Frank Thomas paddock boots, paddock jackets and simpsons the older generation of bike rider thought we were a right bunch of tonsils. For some bikes are a status symbol but others completely get it and the more people have a bike the better it is, esp if they are into older bikes. Would i buy this nope, do i wish them all the success absolutely. Ive owned all types of bikes and change like the wind, but i have two constants two strokes and four stroke twins. If it has got 2 wheels and a motor good for you, even the Ewan McScott, charlie booring world travelling Gs owners or the newbies on Blades the roads are big enough for all of us.

Totally agree with you except if i had some money i would buy the bike. Plus i could blend in with my hipster mates and still smoke them out.

Rather have the vins version. Wonder if you can buy the motor on it’s own? Interesting about the viltpilen as every review raves about them I just think they look over designed.

I hope they are a big hit with the hipsters. I would gladly swop the hipsters fave engine (Honda benly or cd175) for that 2t motor. Everyone's a winner

Compared to a tuned 350 LC they are slow and don't wheelie very well. That was what Kees told the KTM rep. If you were a young lad what would you have choosen a highly tuned LC or a GS 550?

Tony my first big bike after my test was a gs550 katana as I’m sure you remember 😁 Soon to be swapped for a 250lc which blew it into the water. This started my love affair with lc’s I used to start it before I went to bed just because I could I still remember it. White and embassy filters gold wheels (hammerite) 6000 miles £325 . I’d have another 250 in a flash. Went everywhere on it. Loved it.

I like both designs though Veg's one is the best. Looks more akin to an old GP bike I think. Got a lot of wallop for a 250. Be amazed if they sell any, and that's a shame.

Gonna be a really small market place for them if it's £30k for one A few, "well heeled" collectors will buy one I'm sure, but that wont be enough to keep them afloat for long. Shame, as it's a good thing that a British firm are trying to introduce a new 2 stroke to the market. And I think it looks pretty good - if someone on here built something that looked like that we would be raving about it ! And the Peregrine bikes never really hit the mark did they. Partly because they were so "butt ugly". A problem for small firms building niche bikes is conforming to current standards, so all the bits we can legitimately change on our old bikes don't apply to these new ones. Dusty
