I've been on here since May and joined as I wanted help as I wanted to buy a 4L0. My plan was to get the best 4L0 I could and ride it this Summer than over the Winter mod / change the wheels, forks, brakes, swingarm etc to create and updated 350LC - like many have done before. Maybe a 4L0-Evo? The guidance and advice from here has been invaluable and a few weeks ago I bought a UK 4L0 from a member here who has built this up over the last couple of months keeping this as close to stock as possible. We'd discussed the build as it was progressing and Pete from here rebuilt the bike competely, all mechnical parts refurbed / replaced, engine refresehed, crank seals etc, new paintwork, wheels refurbed, etc etc etc. She's lovely..... As for the future mods I've been buying forks (both VJ22 and TZR125R), wheels (R1-Z) and swingarm (Metmachex) for the planned winter work and will be reaching out to you guys on here as I fumble my way to personalising the bike further. Got 6 pot claipers and better disks to fit too. The rearend disk upgrade may be a challenge for me but again thanks to members here for help. So far all I've done is fitted allspeeds and shortened rear muddy; I had a very hot run out today and need to sort a few things in the short-term : The bars don't feel right, so will fit some renthal bars this weekend, the brakes are toosoft, so will need to get those sorted (or get the new forks and 6-pots on quicker ) If I'm feeling brave I will create a Winter mods thread and track progress on there. For now I'm enjoying my "back in the day " experience.... Thanks all Tim

Nice one dude. It's amazing how a cut rear muddy and a set of pipes change s the look so much. That colour scheme has recently become my favourite.

Tim I feckin love it did you really cut a rear mudguard up?? Priceless 👍😁 Yeh - that's how rebellious I am - not really though - I got a cut down mudguard with the bike - it was part of the deal I'm not looking to change anything that I can't change back. I'm thinking this is phase 1 of the "Back in the day" build !!! Just mod the bike the same as I did when I was 17 - allspeeds, cut down rear mudguard, rearsets, smaller plate, - don't remember doing much else back then, maybe cut the front mudguard down too??? in those days just rode and rode and rode - it was such a revelation back then that not much needed doing. I don't remember the brakes being this bad though - but will sort that - maybe a better m/cyl - but got some GSXR disks and 6 pot Tokico calipers for phase 2 !!! Phase 2 will be the Winter efforts - or it maybe that I might not be working for the next few months so maybe the Winter could come early. Ta

As she was freshly painted I had the choice of any colours, but Mars Bar has always been my favourite. I think I will keep that angle and same location for all future pics as I make the mods - maybe build a gallery of all the mods together???

Each to their own but I like stock bikes

Can I ask you Tim are you quoting my build thread or is it a fluke? Back in the day build!

I would leave front muddy alone. Cut down ones always look odd to me. There is so .much you can do to these bikes it's little wonder people get addicted to building them. Thing is one mod can look wrong on a build and get put to one side, yet look right on another build of same kind of bike. So long as you like what you do, that's the main thing. And if you like it, someone else is gunna.😁

Really happy for you mate and she looks a real beauty. Back in the day...you're almost done, clock protecter bars and a tyre art pen!
RE brakes, try changing the pads. I take it you don't use the rear brake (unless you need to pull down a wheelie that is...)

Alex Tyre art pen !!! - Love that The brakes may just need a good bleeding - just so soft - need both hands on the brake lever to stop. As for the rear brake - think that's just for the MOT and to settle the bike mid corner - yeh right
