Brill Rob, they are fun thats what makes them different to modern bikes and actually 50 hp on one of these with std chassis is about all you need. The big thing for me is that they aren't serious and they take me back to being a kid again. That is priceless. If this was mine id be getting dave to do the motor fit new ignition and cdi dave pipes that will make it healthier and far crisper, chassis wise id be doing lc2 forks rebuilt with emulators, blue spot callipers and a decent yss rear shock that way it'll look standard go like stink and handle and brake far better.

He isn't that far from me to be honest we pass his place when we take the kids to flamingo land. I'll have to have a weigh up of what I want to do and can afford. Like ive said previous i do really like the engine as it is. I just cant stop looking at everyone else's projects and feeling the urge to do something Thanks for advise 👍

Rob the problem is the spending gets out of hand very quickly I bought an Austrian import 20,000 miles std bore initially it’s was going to be what I said above. Before I knew it I was into over £10k and I hadn’t finished it. They are like crack massively addictive. What ever you do make sure it’s right for you. If I were to build another I’d do Ypvs wheels and forks metmachex and a std Ypvs motor set up properly. 👍

What was the idea of using 66mm dt pistons after boring the barrels to make a 375cc and having to cut the barrels down by 5mm. Why not just use 66mm lc pistons and not have to reduce the barrels? Does anyone know cheers Rob

Barrels are too short...250 not same height as 350 so you can’t use 350 pistons in 250 conversions unless you then use a spacer which is really not ideal...

I meant for the 350,s sorry Pete as in the stan stephens mod of boring the 350 barrels to 66mm Then cutting 5mm off the bottom to use the dt pistons. When surely you can just use the standard 66mm lc pistons
