Anyone know of options to convert KMH to MPH clocks on the 500 please? thx. I’ve fitted a mechanical converter to the speedo cable. Was about £30 on EBay.

I believe the 350R has the same clocks so you could look out for a set .

350r does have the 150mph clock but the slot for the reed switch is not cut out
The good news is that it is easily cut out
The tzr250 has the 150 dial and the slot
Don't think I have one but I will check
Think I sold my last one

Haha. I saw 125 on my R... indicated tho...
TZR has 17" wheel... wonder how out that would be to the 18... not much I bet and would read fast, so not the end of the world?

Strangely when I was looking at speedos for the kettle I found a site stating all Jap speedos have a 2240:60 ratio This means it is the drives that are different ratios for wheel size Hence why I'm fitting a gs500 drive on the TR front wheel Steve

It would make more commercial sense to have a cheaper drive mechanism. Maybe someone missed a trick there. Either that or the price of LC mph clocks just plummeted.... I also heard one of the period YZF750's shared the same clocks as the RD500LC

I also heard one of the period YZF750's shared the same clocks as the RD500LC To clarify I think the 2240:60 refers to the rpm of the Speedo drive and 60mph On a km clock it would be referred to as 2240:100 If the drives were all the same it would mean RD500, TZR250 and 350R speedos would all have different Speedo internals as the were 16,17 and 18 inch wheels Need to check some part numbers on Speedos and drives now lol This will keep me awake now 🤔 Steve

The thing about the wheel size is that its not the size of the tyre's circumference, thats what i meant earlier when i suggested that the 17" and 18" wouldnt be that different, its only a few cm and the yam speedos read badly anyway lol
