Hi guys as some may know I'm building a hybrid,, so I've a 31k ypvs with race ported barrels with a fresh 65mm bore so my question is I plan on useing a zeeltech to run it with some midrange or all round pipes not decided yet, but wot carbs would you guys recommend, I'm not planning on Raceing it or going all out on the road that's no good I'm after a very quick bike but something I can ride civil if need be,, ile get a new oil pump from norbo and send it to Mr arrow to sort but ideally I kind of need to know a direction for the carbs Ile probably get it to mutts for a set up propally fueling wise and exhaust but with so many options I'm lost will be buying new carbs and running filters I know I should use the airbox but is the standard 4l0 a bit restrictive given the engine spec,, oh and running standard crank not a + 4mm or anything as I'm kinda after a bit of reliability , I know a lot to ask but as I said lost on the fueling side at the min cheers ๐๐๐

Speak to Dave if heโs going to do work on setting the bike up and supplying the pipes describe what youโre after heโll advise you and supply to you. That would be my option. If you phone him and he doesnโt answer (heโs busy) leave a message explaining why you want to talk to him as he is inundated with calls.

PWK 28's Forgiving carbs, easy to set up, happy without an airbox, if that's your choice.

Standard carbs and a modded airbox will do 70hp
Pwk's should give a little more mid

Not one for huge top end anyhow,, did 186 on my r1 and I was like feck that like,, is 70bhp doing well Steve from a 350?? Not sure wot they do standard,, my r1 was book at 186,, but more like 170 so they reckon standard so big power doesn't do it for me it's more the power band kick and weeeeeee lol ๐คฉ๐คฉ๐คฉ๐คฉ

70hp at the wheel is huge for a 350
As you say your 186 claimed turns into 170 at the wheel
Your 47hp lc is more like 40 If you are lucky
The claimed ypvs's 60 is more 45-50hp at the wheel
So to get to 70 you are 50% up on power

Well learn a new thing every day doesn't sound a lot does it,, but I now from the past its the way it's delivered when I first started riding big four pot bike I was hesitant I must admit coming from crazy two strokes I'm thinking an r1 1000cc it will be twice as bad as a cr500 I'd been throwing around at the time,,it was bought new with zero miles on it a 4xv r1 in blue ,, ddeliverd in a dealers van into the garage,, I sat for three hrs wondering if I could handle it. The Mrs said you not going to take it out then??,. I did took my time at first and wot a dissapointment,, no powerband had to wind its neck in to get something out of it let's say,, eventually I did tho after changing my whole riding style I still ride to this day one finger over front brake two over the clutch,, two stroke habits never die lol,,, thanks for the info guys.. We shall get there ๐๐๐

Made me smile. I too always a finger or two on the clutch lever due to my early two stroke days.

I got close to 70 hp with a 4LO engine but the standard carbs couldn't supply enough fuel. PWK's were fitted and I fitted 165 main jets
Later I fitted a 400 cc hybrid engine into the same bike and had to re-jet to 147 main jets. This jetting is still a bit too rich. This engine has been measured at just over 70hp using standard carbs.
As mentioned by others speak to some one who has the experiance to reccomend a full package that works together. Unless like me you like experimenting.
