Just got my 1982 4L0 up and running after a long (28 yr) sleep.
When rebuilding the engine I found the head had been skimmed. I used three base gaskets to get the squish clearance. Porting looks all standard and I set the carbs up to standard spec running a standard airbox and filter. Good news is that it fired up on 4th kick and seems to be running sweet. Need to set the timing up properly and get the idle speed sorted before I take her for a spin.
I am running a set of genuine short can Microns and I am worried though that with this set up it will run too lean and need to know if I should jet up at all or just leave on standard 220 mains ?
