Progress is slow, Waiting on the machine shop to finish the head, hes out with back problems!! Also waiting on the fork tubes as they had to be re-chromed, New back shock just got here Friday, Thats really it, frame and swingarm is together, Got the footpegs put together, that's really it!!!\
Revival time, Been busy rebuilding a GPZ750 Turbo and A Gixxer 750, Both are almost complete, Time to get this LC up and running, Got the head back from Bill, looks great, All machined and squish set at 1mm, Pistons in and new head bolts and washers, new OEM head gasket. head torqued, Vforce-4 reeds fitted and a Chariot intake, I'm going to run a set of 36mm Lectons, Ill have to make a throttle cable and fire out the oil feed..
Little more progress, Engine in, Clutch window finished, RD500 kickstarter modded to work with a RD350 knuckle (Thanks Jon) Bars fitted, brake lines fitted and all bled, Headlight is test fitted, it'll be a little lower, Clocks are mock fitted to get it all lined up, Wiring harness is ready to fit, Bunch of minor crap all done, Setback with the 36mm Lectrons, They are hitting the frame, they fit the YPVS frame no prob, But the RD frame is in the way, So ordered a new set of Genuine 35mm PWKs and get them in... More to come
Personally think you need the bike fully assembled before you decide on headlight. Like alot of things once something's fully assembled things look completely different. As the lights so completely different to what we normally see on LCs , it's a personalized taste. Rest of bike looks Brilliant credit to all your hard work
Had a nice set of LC clocks with broken needles, I didn't have a set and saved by Shaun on the forum, posted them out to me, Thanks again Stripped the clocks, replaced the faded dial decals, new surrounds and all cleaned up and look like brand new, Stuck on a temporary headlight till the OEM one turns up, It'll be a while as its on back order. Just waiting on the belly pan and fit the front muddy and we have another one finished. Oh, look what followed me home, another 500 project
I'm glad the needles arrived and survived the journey and pleased they have helped you finish off your build, looks great. The thread is a good read too.
