Hi guys
lots if questions here and I need to spend some money with Norbo, i owe him a standard pre programmed zeel PV’s combo is top of the list
i bought a set of 28mm carbies that orignally came from NorboS shop that I wish to put on my standard F1 albeit with TSA midrange pipes
from memory they have the oil spigots installed, if I wish to use premix what do I do to block them off, or if I want to run oil pump again what do I do
pump has been Arrowfied to standard setting
is there a special manifold to use or will they squeeze into the standard rubber ones
any reeds, I was thinking Yamaha racing reeds
id like a bit of extra performance without going stupid hence the 28’s
barrels are +1mm with no port work
any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated
thank you
howard

Hi Howard, you can block the oil spigots off by joining the two together with a piece of oil outlet pipe.

I'd block one and use the other for the fuel tap vacuum 😉

Hi Steve
So I need a different fuel tap then to run them
@ Arrow that bit was easy

I had to drill my carbs for oil inlets 34 mm from mutts, Norbo supplied the spigots connected as per normal had told Gary (arrow) my engine spec pump built to spec. Easy peasy lemony squeezy I’d never trust pre mix.

Hi Howard, you can block the oil spigots off by joining the two together with a piece of oil outlet pipe. I also did this but pushed in a roller from a roller bearing to keep both carbs separate

Im not 100% sure what you mean by "a standard pre programmed zeel PV’s combo" as there are a lot of options with Zeels.
IMHO dont buy anything old school ie 2 boxes, buy the top of the line single box version ie the new full version that doesnt use the stator, it comes with a standard map anyway and you'll want to adjust it later with your mods i would think. Anything pre programmed and not adjustable will be ok but not quite right.
Lots of 28mm carbs use the same outlet as the 26s, measure the 'noses' of the two and see, or try and jam one into the inlet, it may well just slide in.
ie 28mm PWKs fit in the the OEM inlet, in fact you need a spacer ring to hold them out of the depth a little.
you can also mod your fuel tap to no longer work with the vac but adjusting the inner parts.

It’s the all in one Zeel with combined CDI and PV as the one unit I was thinking about
No idea how to program it or where to start, hence the plug and play idea, I don’t have the equipment Or the knowledge how to set it up
And I’m confused on the fuel tap, how is it modified?

the programming isnt hard with a controller or laptop and it comes with a pre loaded 31K map anyway, same as the simpler/cheaper one etc. so you dont have to do anything different that you would, but you can programme it later if wanted etc. There are a bunch of threads on tunes on here as well.
It was on at least one of the forums with pics a few years back, worth a look on the rdrz500 maybe?

Howard either vf3 or 4 reeds be an improvement. Although sort of prefer vf3 as they have reed stops & vf4 doesn't. There were rumours vf4 wearing tips off but i haven't seen that in my engine running vf4,pwk 28 & ported with jl pipes. A mod i did to pwk carbs, opening up a vacuum circuit on right carb to the fuel tank vacuum so it works as per oem. Here's thread if your interested, can send you pics if you want them. rdlccrazy.proboards.com/thread/40352/vacuum-off-pwk-28mmDon't know why anyone would run premix in a road bike....esp if you have an "Arrowfied" oil pump ready to go,you don't need any more insurance than that! Imo anyway 😁 Run the oil pump it'll be fine.

You can fit a vacuum outlet to the side of the carb and fit an oil inlet on the top, Norbo sells the oil spigots or you can get them from Scottoiler M5, I’ve used both with no issues. Got some spare vacuum spigots if you need one, I bought a pack of 10. Jess

you can also put them in the inlets of course.
What did Norbo suggest with the Mik 28s?

Interesting stuff.. I will start a new thread specifically about oil injection rather than hijack Howard's?

Hi Jon
I actually got the carnies off a guy in Perth who originally bought them from Norbo, however his plans changed
Have a set of KR1s ones too, think they are 26mm though, could be wrong

KR1s is also 28, its a PWK.
Im sure Norbo will still have a plan of what to do with them, always worth a PM as he doesnt see all the threads on here.
