I think I was spoilt when I was rebuilding original 4L1's and 4L0's as to the amount of original data that is available.
I'm about to start on my first YPVS resto, a 1983 31K LC2 and looking for info. I have found the Parts List, Service Book and managed to get hold of a wiring diagram, so what else is available?
-Is there a list of fasteners with sizes, type and finish? -Is there a list of parts v finish eg gloss black, satin black, olive green, chrome etc
Both these are available for 4L0 and I found very useful.
All help appreciated. Thanks Shaun.

When I found the wood screw in the r/h/switch gear I figured it would have probably been a waste of time...... Just had thought as well......I sprayed them a few years back and fitted new sticker's....I must have put it back in myself!!!! 🤯

Xavier, Yes that link takes me to the fantastic data I used for my previous 4L1/4L0 builds so a similar for the 31k would be brilliant if you can organise before Christmas! lol. Love your site and you spoil us with great data. Thanks.

Steve, thats cool! It's nice to see (but kinda expected i guess) that other people do the same stuff as me. I actually use small white boards when I strip stuff and write the thread length and head info (flat, dished, number etc) and type of bolt plus the colour if i can work it out. One the pic is taken the bolts go in the tubs for plating and the board is wiped clean and I go again. Then when the plating is back I go back through the pics and bag up the bolts for where they fit on the bike and box them with the part they hold on etc.
Sadly I dont often strip a whole bike, but having the pics and info saves so much time its invaluable. Unfortunately Ive never stripped a whole LC2 so have no info on that, other than the parts book info for the bolts that you can work back from the 2nd half of the part number (06025 = M6 25mm thread etc) and then a quick google of the part number and look at the images of the NOS ones, not the new items.

I know, I'm sad 😆
I did that when I stripped my Austrian bike
I was doing the passivating myself so they were all going in the one bucket for zinc only

Hi Shaunthe2nd I have a few LC2s and bought one as soon as they came out in 83, one is fully restored to original and the other is untouched since 1987 and both have original fasteners with the correct finish. Many LC2 fasteners are now hard to find and when superceeded they often have the wrong finish etc, I try to collect as many used fasteners as possible and re plate/ re passivate them myself. I don't have the time or inclination to make a complete list of fasteners plus lengths and finishes etc but if there are specific ones you are not sure about feel free to message me. I am also classic two strokes on Ebay and have been informed that a handful of moaning old dears on this forum like to get there knickers in a twist when it comes to bikes and prices so thought I would join Despite the hysterical rantings and accusations of said individuals I really am a nice chap although I don't suffer fools gladly
