You really want to risk you not being able to stop
Personally I wouldn’t, I bought Metalgear for both mine, with no issues, they are also a very good copy of the originals
At least you have comeback with a known brand
A few extra dollars is not worth a life of pain

I agree with Howard as I have seen issues with cheap disks cracking and warping on forums, so I'd stick to the main players. Its not like those shown are mega bargains either. You might find cheaper on aliexpress lol But yeah... not for me either.
I always find it a shame that most (all?) of the aftermarket supply the same 5mm disk for the whole YPVS range when the later ones are thinner.
Not dissing Metalgear at all, but... (yeah I said it wasn't, but it made me think...) they dont proudly proclaim that they make the disks in Aus. Most every biz that does make things here says that they do if they do. This makes me wonder where the metalgear stuff is actually made? Not saying there is any reason to doubt the quality as they are nice disks, but... Anyway, I assume if you fit them that they are fine with the ADR etc.
Of course Metalgear isnt alone and people like EBC also make disks... dunno where tho.
A lot of stuff is made in China now, even by the big players. I have Brembos made eastern Europe and even see them opening factories in India etc. Its all good so long as the quality remains of course.
There are also a lot of used disks around as some of other models also fit our bikes. OEM is best etc...

Thanks guys Metalgear always struck me as overpriced for what they are, as they seem at least in the past to have been fairly generic. I’m enquiring about a cheap used set of fronts at the moment, trying to ascertain how worn they are though

Be wary of measurements of used disks, often people measure over the high spots, not the dips :/
If you get stuck I can look thru what i have here for you as I have a bunch here.

I paid about $165 a disc not so long ago
I wasn’t overly concerned at the price as I wanted them to work
As Jon says EBC make them, and no doubt others too, I’d stick with the main players though
Piece of mind really for me

Any luck Jon? The Gumtree seller never got back to me. Also found another set on Gumtree but the RHS one is worn
