Try getting a new pair? I completely agree it’s madness but that’ll be the argument they aren’t even mint.

Try getting a new pair? I completely agree it’s madness but that’ll be the argument they aren’t even mint. I don’t need any they just came on my saved searches and if I needed a pair I would buy a pair of pattern ones. I’ve just put a pair on an F2 that’s been converted to N2, paid £21 for the pair 😎

I picked up a pair in a job lot that were removed from a bike heading to the track so there were as near new as you can get
This was 2 years ago
I mentioned it to my parts guy and he offered me £200 on the spot for them

If someones willing to pay that for their matching numbers un-ridden investment bike, then more fool them, so much emphasis is placed on worth, none of these bikes are worth the prices in my eyes, but you either pay or don't have as the going rate has risen, personally I would go for pattern too, but my bike is far from standard spec so the prices don't bother me, but I will pay handsomely for what I want, more fool me.

Say you found a pair bit like Steve now do you sell them on eBay? Do you hold on to them? They are going to be worth big money due to supply and demand precisely because No one wanted them back in the day makes them desirable however if you found a box of 1000 of them suddenly the supply is met prices drop etc I don’t get building something that you wouldn’t have owned back in the day. In 2005 I was building a brand new Lc from parts you could still get most parts new from Fowler’s the build was featured in the Lc club part 1. I had a great mate who worked in the old bike shop I used to work at many years before so I got everything at trade. I then stopped building it and sold it, my reasoning was why would I want an absolute mint nos Lc I’d never have had one in my teens I’d have cut the mudguard fitted different bars and spannies. I then built my first hybrid. I don’t regret selling it but it made me realise that standard isn’t for me.

So it’s your fault Steve that they are now so expensive 😁

I found a couple of RD mirrors that I hadn't thrown out not long ago and a pair of RGmk2 mirrors. I was flummoxed as to why I hadn't binned them.... They wont be going to the highest bidder, I have no interest in taking any amount of cash from anyone afflicted with OCD. I may even smash them up and put the vid on youtube....

The eighties way was, cut mudguards down front and back, cut down number plate holder, get rid of centre stand, indicators, mirrors (as Peter once said the flashing blue light reflected in them put him off trying to get away ) fit K&Ns, Boyesen or hytec reeds and spannies, and a tune if you could afford it by Stan the man, classic eighties bike, anything you could get rid of to loose weight was taken off.

So it’s your fault Steve that they are now so expensive 😁 The LC pair went in the bin with the indicators and 250 exhausts (and centre stand and side stand) as they were only worth a little above zero in 83.

You need to make a little whicker man and do a sacrifice 👍 For £1000 I will give the co ordinates of the tip where the indicators and stands ect went. (It is now covered in grass, so a "nighthawking" operation will be called for.) P.S. There are a pair of pro am fairing infills there too but they may be f**ked under several feet of similar waste matter......you may need to develop a plastic detector that can discriminate plastic from pig ugly plastic...

I remember when fork gaiters for the TDR250 were unobtainable, people were asking £200 for a set of NOS yellow ones. You could get them from Fowlers on back order but you'd have to wait and they were something like £175 a set if you added postage. I managed to find four at £60 each and snapped them up, thinking I'd use two and put two away as a pension fund Then somehow a load of them came on the market and you could get them for half that, Fowlers put their price back down to £30 each and everyone was happy....except me, I had a NOS set that had cost me £120 sitting in a drawer

I used my lc to go camping the other week. Only had 1 standard mirror on it but now wanted 2. Found the mirrors on my cb 250 nighthawk fitted both sides. Threw the old in the recycling.
