Ive seen from muttsNutts posts that he knows his stuff. Arrow rebuilt a pump for me a few years ago, I still can't get over what an amazing job he done. It was like he sent me a brand new one back.

Can it be crap from a previous oil change? Never thought about cleaning these spiggots. Its the drillings in the carb that get blocked up. The final exit hole is tiny. Mine were blocked up by media from the cleaning process. I guess it can also be an age thing. We all know how the fixed air jet can get blocked up.

Just finished hot soapy water flush. Seem perfect now π€π»
I would definitely recommend the syringe and short length of tubing to check and flush the oil way clean
New pistons on order so just clean up the bore And go again π

I have some barrels I need to get fit. Not sure I can get away without a re bore but want to try as they are +1.75 already but they are tuned and went very well before I messed with it.π

I was looking to get one a while ago and was advised to get the ones with the stone balls as the ones with 3 bars can catch in the ports if not careful.

Not sure if mine is scored. It's hard to tell because of the aluminium, will definitely give that a go and check . Fingers crossed.π

A two stone with two guides hone tool will be much better than a 3 stone hone tool. What is really important is the Lenght of the hone stones. Try to get a tool with long hone stones. These will give you a much straighter hone.

Hmmmm.. I've been running a bit of premix oil in the Gas tank.. Yess the pump is in and working.. for more than 12 years now. NO unexpected seizures.. mercifully. Net oil ratio is ~25 to 1 . It's Only too much Oil when it misfires... Which it has Never, ever done. Oil is cheap insurance ... pointless rebuilds are not.
PS; Buy / use a Ball Hone. Best of breed IMO. Leave the 3 piece springy hone things for redoing the brake cylinders on your Austin 7.

I got the spirit of salts from homebase Β£3.50 for 500ml
word of caution this stuff stinks and used neat is very corrosive, It did seem to work I'm not sure how your going to use 3 liters though I used maybe a teaspoon full at the most.
The honing tool may be not be ideal but it did the job pretty well certainly good enough for this job.
the advise I would give and not how did my first go, is to do it from the bottom up not the top down.
There are some witness marks but no gouges.
Lunch break now
then put it back togeather

Thats not ideal like that you need two patterns at 45Β° each. You have to move it in and out fast.
