Hello All
I have fitted a pair of carbs marked 1UA 10 on to my LC. I haven't messed around with jetting or anything yet, tho i did swap the slides for the ones from my LC carbs as the throttle cable clamps worked better ( couldn't swap the holders themselves as one of the screws have been butchered but looks like the fitting holes are spaced differently also).
I have 6mm reed spacers fitted but even with these the powerjet housing at the bottom of the R/H carb touches or very nearly touches the engine casing. Does anyone know if this is normal with these carbs on an LC? I still have airbox fitted but i cut off the tabs that hold the part that attaches to the frame a while ago, but i don't get much upward movement on this part.
I do have 10mm reed spacers which i could fit and i think should give me a little more lift but i thought 10mm would probably be better if i was doing away with the airbox.
Thanks in advance if anyone can shed some light on this.

350 crankcases already have adequate to needs volume. Adding spacers messes with it even further. Some fit spacers to fix specific to their 'curious' setup problems. But generally ? avoid them. Buy carbs that fit. Lotsa choices.

Cheers bare. Spacers were fitted to hopefully cure the dreaded flat spot. I have standard barrels etc at mo and have the flat spot is there. Originally ( and I have no other details other than it was raced) the tops of barrels were skimmed and ported, head skimmed to fek and ran a spacer between 2 base gaskets. With this set up I could start her in the middle of winter with my hand. She would idle as long as I let her and would pull cleanly and sound crisp from 3k in any gear. I wish I had kept that set up or more to the point, measured and made notes of dimensions. Guess I'm trying to hide a setup issue rather than spend the time trying to cure it.

The later ypvs cases were modified to allow clearance for the float bowl spigot on pj carbs so it will be tight on an LC
Not sure how they will perform on an LC
They don't like running without the airbox. Apparently it messes up the pj
Some have blanked the pj off and upped the main jet to compensate
31k or W carbs would probably be better

I would not want the carb to contact the casing, even if they are not quite touching, they might while riding. Would be thinking about the effects on what vibration is doing to the float needle and frothing fuel etc and possibly cause running issues.

Buy some 31k's then eBay The 1ua's
Powerjet carbs don't come up often so may pay for the 31k's or w's

Thanks guys. I am planning to keep my airbox. I fitted the PJ's as I had them and thought they may be an improvement. May sell to buy 31 k carbs, or just run standard carbs and keep PJ's in case I ever get round to sorting PV motor.
