I would like to see the CX500 and what you did with it, they are ripe for custom, seen some really nice ones, one of the best engine ever built, best engine goes to the VFR750 IMO anyway.

BT1100 and MT01 are on my very short list of bikes I would own, the mt engine is a work of art to look at. First bike based on xvs ?

First bike based on xvs ? first bikes a yamaha xv750 ,a mark 1 virago, and yes they were monoshock, they changed to twinshock after this model, they were a bit of a joke in the eighties, but i always wanted one, there also ripe for custom, and u can pick them up cheap, this one was in a bit of a state when i got it, xv2 by michael macmillan, on Flickr xv1 by michael macmillan, on Flickr

I like the simplicity of aircooled shaft drive, though have only ridden not owned a shafty. Rugged engines as well.

not that i've noticed.. i have a z1100 and a Vmax, just stick them in and power out.. it might be that the cx engine along with bmw and guzzi have the cranks in a different orientation, i've heard of folk talking about torque reaction or something but no idea as never been on any of those

That style of bike isn't my cup of tea.. but you've done a cracking job with them!! Nice one! Big improvement for the V twin!!

I remember a Le mans that rocked a bit. A Suzuki gs1000 shaft that was unobtrusive but I think the first shafty I rode was an xs1100 that was not my favourite riding experience, god knows how they did what they did with them racing down under.
