I purchased the flywheel removal tool and once it's tight there's absolutely no give to it. Someone mentioned pouring hot water on the flywheel.....I'm thinking a heat gun might help.
How much should I be reefing on the puller bolt? I don't want to break it

Use a rattle gun Gord. Electric ones are cheap enough now and well worth having anyway.
If no rattle gun, do the bolt up tight holding the tool with a spanner. Hit it with something solid and heavy but wont trash the tool, like a copper hammer, on the end to pop it off. no luck? Then pour boiling water over it to heat it up fast and shock it off again with a hammer.
The rattle gun is easier as it provides a vibration as well as trying to further turn the bolt end.
If using a rattle gun it can be advisable to not hold the spanner on the tool. if using a large air gun it could rip round, use the the threads on teh tool in an instant and yank your hand/arm around. Be careful.

+1 On everything Jon said. It's disturbing how hard you have to hit the end bolt on the puller sometimes But when it does "go" it goes with a crack that sounds like a rifle shot !! Boiling water is a better bet than a heat gun I think. It's instant heat, and will cool quicker too. Dusty

Thank you very much guys! I do have a rattle gun, I'll have a go with that and let you know. I'll try the hot water as well (was worried about water damage to the electrics but I guess it's sealed up)

Flywheel = off! The hot water was the solution. I don’t think I had enough on it the first time. Now time for tea!

Glad you got sorted and, well, you found the weak spot of that 'rattle gun'* setup. lol. * - yours looks more like an impact driver. Better than nothing but probably a bit weedy for the clutch, flywheel and any tight output nuts. Great for spinning in other fixings tho. My big rattle gun has a 1/2" drive on the gun itself and my smaller one is 3/8" and more suited to more bike stuff with lower max torque at 105NM. This is the small one I use, where you live something similar can be found i reckon: www.vektools.com.au/sp-tools-sp81112b-12v-3-8-dr-mini-cordless-impact-wrench-with-bonus-deep-impact-socket-set.htmlI bought a quality 3/8 as I use it every day, but you dont need to go mega expensive on a larger 1/2" version, even a cheapy from the big DIY centers will get you out of trouble for the few times you will use it, and it will get car wheels off too www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-one-18v-3-speed-impact-wrench-skin-only_p6210658I have an Aldi (made by Einhell) version and its been fine.

Mine is a impact driver but it got the nuts off. I couldn't get them off with out it or something similar. Might look into one with a 3/8 drive
