I'm in a railway DB scheme, which basicly works on how long you've been in the scheme for, and calculated by the salary you finish on, that's not been affected by global events but I do have an additional section which is invested in the stock market, and that's about 10k down from February time. I'm thinking of going in august at 55, so waiting on an estimate to see how it pans out. I'm in a good position I know, as when I started on the railways 18 years ago, I transfered 42k from a private pension I had going, into the railway scheme, and it purchased me 28 years of membership, so I've actually got 43 years in, best decision I ever made.

Just got one in up to 31st March
Had paid in Β£7k over the year
I've lost Β£15k π°
They say stocks have recovered a lot as this was the worst of it but moving forward a lot is going to go t1ts up.
And that's just 1 of mine, don't want to see that now as too depressing
I've got 4 years till I'm 55 and was thinking I would semi retire π

Took mine at 55, not a minute after, 15 months ago. Luckily I went for index linked (RPI) yearly increases. Glad I didn't wait. Still got a final salary one to come when I'm 60.

I received a statement today, it's gone down 6% in the last six months. Luckily I wasn't intending to cash it in anytime soon, so I assume it will recover in a year or two. Fingers crossed I will still have a job after the furlough ends

Fingers crossed I will still have a job after the furlough ends That's around the figure I was told they have bounced back to No idea what long term job prospects are for me but with 27 years service and 4 years till I'm 55 and can get my hands on my pension pot I ain't too worried In saying that our sales are up so my dreams of a big redundancy pay out most likely won't happen Steve

took my 25% out of my pension in January, but left the rest untouched and will be leaving it for another 5 years, I also had a bond mature at the end of February (at a high peak on the FTSE 100), so had a good payout, I've since re-invested my initial lump sum into another 5 year bond (as the prices hit bottom), so that combination of luck and planning means I've only dropped 2% on my total pension. But my main income is from my rental properties and fixing bikes etc, so I am not too worried, although I do keep an eye on the market

What is a pension? Is it like that thing I paid 25 quid into every week starting when I was an apprentice that will buy a takeaway every fortnight?
I just wish I had not listened to professional advice, and carried on "wasting" money on booze and more bikes...I'd be a f**king millionaire....

I'll not go into details but I'll be sitting at home eating cold baked beans till the stock market recovers.

Worried about tenants getting made redundant though. I've one on furlough, but apart from that no difference from pre lock-down. Fingers crossed.

Got premium bonds and that's it LOL Didn't even win Β£25 this month ! Best "safe" bet around. I have 5k in them (whole life savings..thats it.. not a scrote of anything else) and get regular Β£25 wins.
