I’ve deliberated for weeks mate and I eventually went with Avon roadriders mk11 90x90 x18 front and 100x90x18 Rear and an I pleased I did the bike handles Sublime now . I got them from I’m sure tyretech tradng and they were the cheapest by miles at £133 delivered miles cheaper than anyone else google Avon roadrider 11 tyre packages and then phone them on they’re number as the discount on the webpage isn’t correct better to order them on the phone they come next day if you order before 11am I think hope this helps pete

The BT45s are supposed to have slightly better grip but slightly shorter life than the Road Riders.

Good thread this, my LC came with Metzlers , plenty of tread on them but I can't wait to try something else.

If you are only doing 1 mile per year it probably doesn't matter!

Rear should be 80 profile not 90. Yep, I always fit 90/90 18 front and 110/80 18 rear.

Rear should be 80 profile not 90. Yep, I always fit 90/90 18 front and 110/80 18 rear. I've always fitted 110 90s on mine. Thought they were 80's as standard but that's what were fitted when I bought it. Still on road runners. Getting on for 20 years old now. Were ok in dry, but loved to spin in the wet. I always liked Bridgestones when I had my blade but like norbo I prefer the pattern on the riders, so that's probably what I will go for next

Standard sizes used to be 3.00 x 18 front and 3.50 x18 rear old sizes but I’ve always ran a 90/90 or 100/90 front and a 110/90 or 120/90 rear.and if it’s good enough for pro-am it’s good enough for me 😁

Is there a separate “race” compound? Like the Avons?[/quote] I have just spoken to the UK importer :- "The Caucus is of radial construction designed specifically for older Classic bikes, combined with modern compound giving superb grip. Continental only made one compound as their wasn't any need for a race compound".
If you want more information :- www.conti-bike.co.uk/category/tyres/classic/I hope that helps. Best regards

I was crazy enough to fit those sizes on my LC2 and it wobbles a bit on the front with 32psi front /40psi rear.. I'm aware there could be other reasons than tyres and pressures..

I think I ran them pressures when I were young . 90/90 front 110/90 rear. I was about 8.5stone sopping wet and the thing slapped like a bitch over white lines and bumps. Handled better 2 up but would still slap fairly. I put it down to me not being heavy enough to make the suspension work, but I wander if the pressure was too high in the rear as well. I've got different shock and weigh another 4stone now and don't seem to have an issue.

I have BT45s fitted. I decided to fit a 120/80 rear rather than a 110/80. It transforms the handling making the front end feel much more planted under power. I run 30 psi front and 32 psi rear.

Just as a follow up, when I run 40 psi front, 42psi rear on my 100/90 front + 120/90 rear.. The wobble seems to stop Haven't tried lower pressures yet. I'm pretty heavy at 125kg's. Bike is an LC2 running a YSS shock at default setting and stock suspension front.

I've always run BT45 100/90 front and 120/80 rear. 120/90 rear tyre is too tall.
Bike handles great and so much more sure footed than the skinny std sizes!
Even the road tests at the time said the tyres were undersized for the rims!
Give them a try..... you'll love them!😁

I’ll be going for the Roadriders once I get round to ordering some, on purely looks alone they really suit the bike ( IMO ),, seems to be a bit of variation in what sizes people are running ?? Does the difference between a 110/80 rear or a 110 /90 rear effect the handling or gearing on the bike ( 90 section will obviously have a greater circumference )
