I have searched and can only find LC2 trip meter know removal.
How does the trip meter know come off a 4L0. Is it screwed, LH or RH thread? or small grub screw?
Thanks

No grub screw. Comes off the opposite way to resetting the trip. It will most likely be a bugger to do though.

As above, think that its hollow too and needs a very thin screwdriver down the middle to stop the shaft from spinning too.

As above but you need to remove the Speedo clock from the cluster to do this. Can be a bugga!

Try pulling on the knob while turning it in the opposite direction to resetting, that normally works, or it does for me, don't pull too hard.

Always used the thin screwdriver method, the secret is to poke the screwdriver down the hole in the knob (this is making my eyes water typing this) and use it to hold the shaft still. Then unscrew the knob clockwise (it is a left hand thread) and it should pull through the rubber seal once its fully unscrewed.

Mine would not unscrew. However there is no secret. It was just stuck. I ended up holding the shaft with long nose pliers. You need to remove the face to get to the shaft.

I beat my head against mine for a while and finally gave up.
This thread is giving me hope (just).

I ended up opening the unit up and using long nose pliers as stated.

The reason I was searching the forum on removing the trip meter knob was I had to remove the PO’s effort.
