That is showing as tax exempt. I thought they had to be close to standard spec?
Looks like a modified hybrid LC should be okay to register as historic vehicle for tax exemption.

The Tax exempt "thing" is interesting. I too was under the impression the bike had to be near standard, or at least using parts close in age and spec to the originals. But who is going to know ? When I registered my latest aircooled frame they work with the picture you provide. Nothing to stop you completely changing every component on the bike once you've got the exemption. Only issue may be regards insurance/claiming in the event ? I don't know ? As for the bike - I quite like it ! Whacky and different. I would tone done some of the paint and change a couple of bits, but otherwise I like it Dusty

The historic thing is a bit grey
When you read the rules it specifies cars as being not modified. Nothing specific to bikes

I saw a modified Mini thrashing round and it did not look road legal. When I checked it, it was tax exempt so also MOT exempt. Maybe you can send a different photo in of a standard car/bike??? Or, maybe DVLA don't know or don't care.

For the cost of an mot and road tax I’ve decided not to go down the historic vehicle route. I can possibly see it being used to restrict usage of your vehicle in the future as already happening in other countries. So I’ve read in vmcc magazines.

If that was the only thing I had to ride.. I would take up stamp collecting or head to the f**king loft with a rope...

My kettle project was registered historic
The road tax bit is different to the mot
Tax is simply the 40 years no questions asked
Its the mot bit that needs a declaration and it's up to you to keep it road worthy and there is tall of modifications for cars
I grudge paying £65 for taking something for a spin a few times a year so the tax is now free
As for the mot if I'm just taking it round the block the odd time it ain't getting it
If regularly in use I would get a voluntary mot

I would Mot mine anyway, in spite of being exempt. I would hate to find an insurance company trying to wriggle out of a claim on a bike without an mot, irrespective of the legality of mot exemption.
