just a few pics of the rebuild was mainly engine brakes and cosmetics. bike broke down on the way home from picking it up. previous owner had had rebore and thrown it all back together without checking the internals. input shaft bearings were shot and all the seals. so i had a complete stripdown and rebuild all done myself with a aid of a haynes manual. won a 250lc head of ebay for .99p and machined it at work to the same size's has a 350lc the brakes were non exsistant i bored out the caliper brackets and sleeved them and made new pins ,some new hoses from norbo ,what a differance it stops. new shoes at rear and i made a new brake rod in stainless. every nut ,bolt and washer replaced with stainless, (apart from m10 fines and wheel spindle nuts) have to get them made. exhausts blasted and painted with plastikote bbq paint (advice from the forum). i did nip the engine up to start with but found out non yamaha throttle oil cable was the problem. not enough 2 stroke getting through. sorted no damage done. check out the last pick my 4l0 from 1981(look at those crash bars) anyway been for a few blasts where have all the x7's xr3'i and fiat strada's gone. the pick up should have spotted the smoke, but i'd gone all gooey start of the strip down its out surgery has begun electrical dangly wirey thing loads of spiky wheely things machined 250 head IMG]http://i657.photobucket.com/albums/uu296/jonahlc/DSCN0980.jpg[/IMG] sleeved front brake bracket new stoppies new rear stoppy with stainless brake rod the old girl in 81
