Hello there, I'm faffing about with a 31k LC2. I bought it as a completed project that had been totally restored including rebuilt crank, rebores etc. The chap that did the restoration failed to get the bike started, got sidetracked by other projects and left it. I then bought it. The bike was originally raced and not standard. It now has standard exhausts, airbox and carbs/jets etc. I am of the impression that if the barrels have been subjected to some amount of porting, jet size should not be affected due to the standard restrictions in the exhausts and airbox ......?
I can't really carry out a plug chop yet as it's being run in...
The carbs did have 260 mains in, until I installed 240's after cleaning..
Thanks in advance.

Porting will affect jetting I'm afraid
Anything that affects flow through the engine
I'd think 250 or 260 is safer
Back in the day mine ran allspeeds (no jetting change), Stan's S2 tune and standard airbox other than inner snorkel removed
That was on 260's

Hi. This is my personal experience of my 4lo which had a Stan Stephens tune with 34mm carbs, premix and Lomas pipes. I then put standard pipes and carbs with air box and replaced the oil pump. I ran it like this for about 4000miles. It now has Mutts midrange pipes and still runs standard jetting. I did start off with richer jetting but eventually settled on standard.

Thanks for the advice.
I think I'll re- install the 260's. Can't do any harm for the first 250 miles on new bores at least.
When it's loosened up I'll carry out a plug chop and see how it looks.
The wetter the better!!
Thanks again.
