Some of you may recognise this frame from a post where a local (to me) lad was trying to ID what he had. Turns out it was a German 250LC that has been modded to take a ypvs swingarm. It turned out to be not what he wanted so he moved it on via Ebay, which is where I picked it up from. I fancied an LC hybrid project to sit alongside my stalled f2 hybrid. So in amongst some bits I bought last year for another bike, R1Z, the bloke pushed an FZR400 swingarm at me. So that looks like it's going to find a home in the LC. I probably would've got the swingarm pivot machined down to fit the LC frame, but I've read Jon's excellent thread on spreading a frame. That combined with the current situation would mean an unknown turnaround from my mate who does the machining as a foreigner. So frame spread it is. The white dots are where I'm thinking of, gulp, cutting it.

Wow, this will be an interesting one, I will be keen so see how this goes. Something a bit different. Good luck and enjoy once you get a chance to get moving with it.

Cut! Inserts in the cut tubes. Needs squaring up and welding. It spread a little more on the lhs than the right, so I may need a bit of heat to help that along.

Hi Stef, Nice job, this is what was done with mine, i'm nearly finished now, had slight issue with wheel alignment and exhaust positioning but easily sorted, you look like you've got it all in hand. Enjoy the build mate. Andy.

Is it worth welding some tie bar brackets on while I'm at it? Do they make a significant difference?
Stef.
