Today I stripped down the horns on my lc for paint & a refurb & the decals that go on the brackets have high tone & low tone, are the horns different or just adjusted differently because mine have the same markings on them. Not really bothered about it just curious? .

My guess is they are a different tone but when you press the horn button you'll hear them both as one. Has anyone got a 250 and 350LC for a beeping comparison?

One should be hi-tone and one lo-tone.

I think they are the same horn but under the outer bit that's held on with a little 8mm nut are different thickness of washer/shim on each horn, I tested mine before fitting them and they have a different tone one is deeper than the other, so same horn just adjusted to have different tone.

I noticed different sized washers under the dome and thought a previous owner had lost one and put another in, makes sense now.

The from memory the last set of genuine Yamaha horns I got had a "H" and an "L" stamped on the bracket of each one, if I get a chance will have a look at my 350 and check. I think I may also have one full original Yamaha twin horn set in my spares so will check them as well.
