Hi Building a hybrid from a 31K, stripped the motor down and the cylinders and head are in a bit of a mess, so thinking, rather than get them bored out and repair the head, fit a big bore kit. I don't want to start changing everything else, so my question is :- Can i just fit/get a big bore kit, pretty much just fit it without changing much else, maybe just change jetting in carb ? Obviously the enging is having a complete rebuild. Cheers Mick

Yes if you fit an Athena kit you will be fine the only thing you will have to do is change the bolt on flange on the pipes to a slip on one and jet your carbs ,

If you're going to be using the oil pump, then you are ok up to 392cc providing the pump is A1. Any bigger than that and the pump needs to be uprated (6 modifications in total).

They are the mods that I personally developed, then had tested in real situations. I mean 6 mods on the oil pump alone.

Arrow's modified pump is great, have one of those built for anything over 392.
Plenty of guys have build bigger engines, search on here for 421 or 443 or 496 and other larger sizes.

frankly is all so get a set of 28mm carbs its not that you cant run with the standard 26's but your not really getting the fuel flow you need you can up jet but you'll get a lot more out of the motor with bigger carbs
