lots to do, be aware that if you intend converting that to a 350 then you will need a different ignition set up, as the stator/flywheel and CDI don't work so well on the 350 setup as the timing etc is all wrong, or at least the 2 bikes I've had in that where 250's converted to 350's ran terrible until I swapped it all out

Hi all
Yes lots to do .... the clutch cover - somebody had rammed the dipstick in and cross threaded it and I assume the clutch gear wore a semi-circle out of it ! the cr*p collected in the "un-used" thread and upon trying to clean it and using a new dipstick it felt "cheesy" and 'orrible. Use of the tap was free and you cant clean a thread any better by any other method .
Thanks for the head up ref flywheel and if I get this to run at all - it will be a victory.I am hoping to go th Zeeltronic rout ... but need to talk more about it.

I rebuilt this 250 a while back and it was as smooth and quiet as any Iβve heard Not noticeably any slower once riding,itβs 46 bhp as standard Forward a few years and Iβm turning it into an hybrid due to using a lot of the original body parts on other bikes A decent set of pipes might even unleash a few more horses

They do use different CDIs of course and thats where the timing will be different.

Nice thread, keep up the good work. it looked a dog at the beginning but looks fairly complete. I'm surprised that your powder coater doesn't bung up all the threads etc for you as part of the process, but at least you seem to have it covered. Good luck with it and keep the pics coming.

Hi Shaun
Didn't ask the painter to do any of the " masking " as I've had other frames etc coated and on return, although the promise has been made of thorough bunging etc the threads and bearing surfaces have not been done ! Then lots of work to clean/tap as needed.
Also the comment was made " you've done lots of the work " and the cost was lower for the powder coat of frame and swinging arm .... not much over Β£100 !
Try for more Piccies tomoz . thanks for the encouragement.

Seen a post on here ... reference ordering from Norbo , yes is a bit of a " rig ma roll " to order, as I'm a dinosaur asked my lady to help and in double quick time she " clicked and pasted " straight from the site to a word doc and then same again to P/Pay note.
Now the point of the comment " THE SERVICE FROM NORBO WAS OUTSTANDING " ordered after mid day Friday and received in the post Saturday !
Initially using the Forum I tried to use Flikr for photos with no joy ... now use Tapatalk after sound advice ( thanks Guys ) . Have paid for the premium service and now everytime I try to "load" one than 1 photo the app crashes ! ARGH ! any comment /advice welcome.

A simple question and you may call me Homer after ! Fitting the air cleaner box - is all that holds it one 6 mm fixing and two rubber mountings ? The reason I'm asking is that on the frame, underneath and to the rear of the plastic molding there are two pierced holes - quite large in diameter ,the forward one a smaller size didn't know if this hole should have a "rubber rest" for the air box. I've fitted the one that was on the bike originally to the rear of the two but cant see what purpose it carries out . I'll change to the mobile and post a couple of piccies
