I'm wondering how the above will apply to bikes needing an MOT being restored at the moment. i.e. I'm currently rebuilding an LC2, and am not far from needing an MOT, hoping to get some riding in this summer. I imagine I'd be able to get the bike MOT'd once we're able to get out and about.

Bugga, just read the small print too - one of mine has ran out today so still need to try find to get it done. Thought I qualified for the 6 month extension.

Believe you can keep checking online to see if you get an extension, How I read it..only if mot runs out 30/31 Mar or later.
I also thought you needed at least two weeks valid MOT left, to be able to tax online? Interested to see how you all get on.

Its a cut off point, if you are not in possession of a current mot at the date stated, the 6 month extension will not apply, I'm guessing you also will not be able to tax because of this.

Managed to get my hybrid Mot'd today thankfully. Ran out 2 days ago and couldn't tax it. Booked in and went direct but took the long way home for a lock down treat!
