Yes heat gun on the wheel, and maybe a whack with a mallet, sounds like they have loctite on, and this needs melting/softening.

rattle gun with socket and hex key on the front. The only way to do it without killing them really.

Which model bike are you referring to? Jon The reason I ask is that an LC doesn’t have Allen bolts, but a YPVS does. A YPVS needs the carrier removing as it has nuts on the back of the bolts. Jon

Good point Jon. Looking at his previous posts, looks like Stevie has a Pv.

I didn't answer as I thought it couldn't be ypvs as you would simply use a socket and wrench on the rear and only need the slightest grip on the Allen head to stop it turning

Thanks for help lads, sorry yes it's a 31k ,the nuts on back of carrier came off easily but the Allen bolts were bending my good allen socket ,but a bit heat on casting freed them off then I punched them out, refitted with coppaslip job done ,great.

Good news Stevie. Made the same mistake with my own 31k and butchered 3 of the bolts trying to get them out. Copper grease on reassembly will help the next sprocket change.
