Hi Guys
in the process of trying to decipher some of the wiring on my F1
I have a brand new 57V loom, and the original loom, they look pretty much identical, which apart from the stator wiring and rear brake connection completed, all fits relatively nicely
I do have a few rogue pugs which I will work out along the way, however as with most people the CDI is causing issues trying to match up with wire goes where from it to the loom, I have 2 52Y-50's both of which I have no idea if they work as yet, both came in my box of bits, both have different connection methods
One has only the bullet connectors, the other has a 2 pin plastic male plug that matches nothing on the loom as well as with your normal crimp connectors on it as well
My question is which Zeel do I need to replace the CDI and PV controller that has an ignition curve/PV curve already built in, I really just want plug and play to a certain degree?
I do realise i'll need to connect wires together, that I can do
The only ones, at least on the shop site, seem to all need programming, computer programming is not my thing, I couldn't even handle Basic, then someone tried to teach me Fortran - disaster lol
Cheers
Howard

Hi Howard Not sure about the zeel but I have just fitted an Ignitech which combines the CDI and PV controller. Simple enough to connect into your existing loom with nice clear instructions. Bought some new connector blocks and everything looks nice and tidy. I got mine from Dave Mutts Nuts and he supplied it pre programmed for the 31k ignition curve and valve control. It is also fully programmable if you have someone at your end who could do their bit with a laptop but not really needed as this was plug n play from the box. I did have a small setback with the polarity on the pick up connections however I got Dave to reset the pick up to auto detect and no bother since. I know it is not a Zeel but it is another option if you are stuck. John

I know Borut offers a Zeel CDI for the TDR250 that is plug n' play with all the proper connector blocks installed and a preprogrammed curve that is said to be quite good and a huge improvement over the stock box.
Hoping he has one like this for the 4L0 but not confirmed.
Dunno about 31K, but as many of them are out there with duff boxes it seems likely.

My question is which Zeel do I need to replace the CDI and PV controller that has an ignition curve/PV curve already built in, I really just want plug and play to a certain degree? The PCDI-10VT .. easy enough to wire up, and once done ready to go. It is a programmable unit that can store two curves but the standard curve is already there and will work as it is.

I have a PCDI-10V but there are newer versions now as Mark has.
Howard, the 57V and your loom are the same loom. The 52Y-50 plugs right in. The 2 plug male connector goes to the stator. Dont forget the stator when testing out your wiring. Have a look at some google pics as some of the old ebay sales pics of the 52y50 show the wires and how they terminate.

PCDI-10VT is a good all round unit does CDI and ypvs and programmable ignition . the igg box is cheaper and does the same and you dont need the hand held just a lap top . but most people do go zel as they come with better set up and fitting instructions . I have both listed on the site mate if you need one ./

I bought an ignitech from Dave Whattam and fitted it myself to my 250LC. Dave installed a simple safe map so I could ride the bike up to him & get it fully set up on his dyno. Plug and play is only a way to get the bike running initially. There is no way you can optimise these with your arse dyno. By fitting this type of ignition you're trying to maximise the set up you have and only graphs and data from the dyno will give you this. So with the carbs balanced, fueling set and ignition curve optimised I ended up with a perfect safe setup.

Hi Guys
Thanks for all your input, it will be road orientated at this stage with the original cigar pipes, chambers will come when finances allow
@ Norbo, yes I saw them all on your site just wasn't sure which one didn't need programming as it had the values in there already
Thanks for the help
I figure if I can work out this loom then there shouldn't be too many hassells with the zeel, I know Jon has a bit on his website
I have to find a few electrical bits yet in my boxes eg relay and rear brake switch, that will leave me with a few less rogue wires and plugs

BTW
I've found a 1UA loom, its got a couple of plugs missing front and rear, it'll be up for sale soon if anyone wants pics PM me your email address
I've a couple of what I think are RZ350's in a box, need to find the yellow labels to identify correctly same deal
And if anyone wants an unused complete Yambits 1983 LC2 31K loom it can be for sale too
Bear in mind I'm in Australia
I've no idea on price yet, I need to have a look to see whats missing of them, and advise, only the 1UA I know has a plug or two off it, not by me

The Zeel comes with a 31K map on it IIRC.
The LC2 NOS aftermarket loom will be worth quite a bit Howard, not other brand new option out there now and yours will be the only one for sale.

Really Is best if one tweaks te PV as well as the Ignition curve. I found that increasing the PV to Open earlier and wider than than stock.. all the way thru. Eliminated ALL stumbling /flats spots. Even constant WOT from ~3k rpms to rev limiter. V nice result IMO. No hope of doing without a programmable PV.
