Two surveys released this week show that the Corona's brand is suffering from negative buzz.
5W Public Relations said that 38 per cent of Americans wouldn't buy Corona "under any circumstances" because of the outbreak, and another 14 per cent said they wouldn't order a Corona in public. The survey encompasses polling from 737 beer drinkers in the United States.
In another survey conducted by YouGov, the firm found consumers' intent to purchase Corona fell to its lowest level in two years. The survey also showed that Corona's buzz score, a metric that that measures favorability, has dropped significantly since the beginning of the year.
Constellation's Newlands said those reports do not reflect the company's business performance, calling the "misinformation" about the virus' impact on Corona's business "extremely unfortunate."
Online searches for "corona beer virus" spiked in early February, but have since declined.
Constellation Brands' stock dropped 4 per cent on Friday and 8 per cent on Thursday, although the entire stock market has fallen sharply as fear grows about the spread of coronavirus.
The number of cases have climbed to 83,577 globally Friday. Nearly 3,000 people have died from the virus.

Unbelievable. Only in America indeed. I have been to the USA loads of times and met some of the nicest and most educated people you could ever wish to meet. However many of those over there are poorly educated (not their fault) and are drip fed utter sh*te and “fake news” from the media so no wonder rubbish and misinformation like this gets out. Our North American members might agree here. Either that or it is another Donaldism against anything from Mexico making its way across the border. Heaven help us all, lol 😂

Only in America?? I'll bet I could find 737 beer drinkers of equal measure of tosspotness who could embarrass a Jerry Springbollox audience.. We managed to screw up our Corona drinks company around 1990 and we did it without a virus.... Meethinks some other big beer company has shown it's dirty hand in this, a marketing opp not to be pissed.. sorry missed.

It's true.
There are a shitload of idiots over here.
... and our current Presidential administration appears to be doing it's best to dumb us down all the way back to the dark ages.
Science, education and environmental concerns are all being gutted. Fcuking Trump has put a Petroleum Industry executive in charge of the Environmental Protection Agency, and he's got his Vice President, an evangelical Christian who disavows modern medicine as head of the Coronafcukingvirus action team.
We're fcuked.

I too have had the pleasure of meeting and working with some Americans, and they too were very nice people that you couldn't say a bad word about, and we shouldn't tar them all with the same brush
No doubt there are these sorts of things that go on in every country and you have to have a laugh
My missus went there for a holiday a few years back, and spent a night on the original Queen Mary moored in Long Beach watching the fireworks display, this was December
A youngish, in her 20's American lady, heard the strange accent, and approached her to see here she was from
Australia was the reply, the next question absolutely floored the missus, and I quote "As Australia is on the other side of the world is it still December there or is it July
My missus answer was of an equally flummoxing reply to the young American, "Not only is it still December but it is now tomorrow"
To which the young American looked at her mouth gaping saying "no way, how can that be"
