Top work as always Al Been following progress on this and loving the innovation. I was always worried the the thin webs would not be able to take the lateral load under braking right up till this post and now get the alloy carrier will sit right into the recesses between the cush drive lugs; solid. Almost there but dont rush anything until you are well on the mend. Enjoy the rest buddy John

Hi John
That right
I wanted to avoid any loads on any webs so the disc locker legs will only located in these four cavities created by the four cast bosses you can see.
Hub is strongest here as these bosses are to house the four Cush drive bonded bushes that the final drive sprocket fits into so you are locating on almost a solid boss in four places as this cast boss is also reinforced with steel sleeved bonded bush too
Also with the solid billet unit (rather than four separate legs like I showed earlier the four (due to it being one solid part) are very rigid to resist any loads applied to them under breaking as the unit needs to “reach” deep inside the hub to locate inside these four cavities and lock against the side of the four cast bosses
Like you said nice and solid
Best wishes Al

Hi all Hope you are all well Just a quick update Now as I am back on my feet I have finally managed to finish the rear disc conversion. This is the alloy disc locker unit that needed a bit of fettling so it fitted snugly in the original rear hub. [emoji106] Also back end now fitted with an original restored Dresda swing arm, and a nice pair of YSS piggy back shocks from Brooks Suspension that finishes off the back end nicely. Really pleased on the final result and bike certainly looking very non standard, but will leave the final judgment to yourself Lastly as now running CB400N lower sliders (as part of the earlier twin disc modifications) fitted a nice and shiny Fastec fork brace Catch up soon and have a good weekend Al Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Looks great Al.
Only thing I'd probably add is lock tabs on the disk bolts, tho i expect youve fitted locktite, as it looks weird without them. You could fit those without removing the wheel of course.

Hi Jon Hope you are well Yes everything is loctited as when I checked Honda never used lock tabs on the disc assembly and just used loctited bolts to attach the disc to the wheel hub Maybe because they are a five bolt mount instead of a six like the RD so tabs are easy with a even number of bolts? Best wishes Al

Bang tidy, tht. I remember being done over on a roundabout by a well ridden 400,4 and i,m on a 350lc. The guy had leathers on and took the corners like a racer. I had a pilot jacket, jeans and dm bootz on, and took the corners like a street rider.

Good to hear you are back on your feet Al! The little Honda is a beautiful bike. What you've done is discreetly bought her bang up to date.

Love the work you’ve done Al, I do love to see subtlety altered bikes in keeping with the time period. It’s a little cracker.
