Fowlers in B'tol had a bunch of them 18months back when I was there. Truly awful as the tank isnt the right shape for the LC's decal :/
The review makes me think the XSR might be a fun thing to ride, but im still not really sure why it needs to look like something else. Tho has to be said this one is the better of the conversions, Im not sure if the Fowlers ones were just decals on the OEM XSR panels designed to hook in some strolling punter to love it cos they had or wanted and LC but never owned one in the past etc
I have to say I coudnt get all the way through the video, that bloke is super annoying to listen to. wittering on and on...
Only thing I really did find of interest was the Tom Tom Nav unit, but seems that it came out in 2016 and as usual with Tom Tom they launched it with lots of fanfare and then quietly let the product die in favour of a totally different unit a few years later. I really wish they would pick a unit and stick with it. Anyway that one was a scooter unit designed to be bolted to a mirror and was basically a smart**tch ala Casio Protrek, so too small for fast riding I think.
Anyway, it did make me wonder if might find some kind of Nav unit for a build to integrate... tho i wont be pretending its a rev counter (wtf?!) and sticking it on the wrong bloody side like the people who build the bike in the video.
I reckon if you bought one of these cos you thought it looked like the LCs you saw back in the day and always wanted you might be in for a bit of a shock when you went to a meet and actually saw an LC in the metal and talked to owners. The smile on your face would vanish pretty quickly once you realised what youd done lol Buyer regret is a terrible thing :/
What is interesting is that when Ducati brought out the Desert Sled people said it looked like the XT500 (me included) and part of that was the decals and colours, but no one seemed to try and pretend they had an XT with one lol.
I think that it maybe bought by someone who actually wants to commute/ride a bike regularly shall we say, they might love the looks of an old LC but be concerned about the reliability of a 30+ year old bike and then there's the issue of having to use two stroke oil and emission zones for example.
It's never going to give you the same experience of an original LC, that's a given I think.
