I know this as probably been discussed before chaps. I have an original bowl thats slightly faded in places, whats the best way to bring it back to life and paint to use etc. Thanks in advance👍

Personally I don't like painting the black plastics on an LC. I'd give it a good degrease and clean, then put it in the dishwasher for a high temp wash. Then spray with AutoGlym Vinyl & Rubber care or similar product.

you can also use a heat gun to bring back the black on some plastics.

Erm ..the plastic is ABS, which isn't very heat tolerant. Care with the heat.... use too much and it will Pretzel. Best to test first.

Thanks bare, tried it alittle and it certainly doesnt work. Bowl fine however. Going to look into painting it now i given it a good rub down. Painting tips welcome guys.👍

I rep any my black plastics with black trim paint. Looks perfect and has lasted over the years so far.

Hycote satin black. Perfect finish used it for donkeys (lol) years.

Sorry if i misled you, a lot of the MX plastic (and out chain guards and rear mudguards etc) come up great with a heat gun.

For anyone wondering how heat helps, this is part of a YPVS I worked on today: Cleaned up of oil and grease and looking a bit rough After heat gun Then hit with Autoglym vinyl and rubber stuff

Did a faded ypvs chain guard with a heat gun, came up like new, ACF50 is also great for bring up plastics and metal
