Supplied and delivered by Mike Kopite30, was thinking of doing an LC YPVS hybrid from scratch but cost and availability put paid to that so got a near complete bike, get Christmas out of the way and I’ll crack on although got a kitchen, bathroom to finish and rebuild my 250lc engine. I already have MT 125 front and rear end.

Pretty much undecided yet what to do,definitely hybrid but how far from original like topmans bikes I go depends on how brave you are, just taking inspiration from everyone’s stunning builds to see if I can get anywhere near the quality of them.

Ha I remember riding mates MT-5 round a BMX track next to Trafford college, does look like one hopefully look better when done although might change my mind, I have street triple front end and NC29 wheels and swing arm but haven’t found any threads on here with one fitted.

Dropped the oil and out came petrol instead so engine out now and stripped decided to have a go at a rebuild after reading Dusty’s engine rebuild thread which I will have to read several times I think, looks like it’s on original bores so plan is to send crank and barrels to PJME.

Power valve cover is broken so seen this nos on eBay listed for a DT125R £25 posted, went on Fowler’s parts and the part no for the RD is 29L-1131M-00 NLA so took a punt on it cause it looks the same and arrived today looks exactly the same except it’s silver

Stand arrived to late to weld spring peg onto frame, so quick look at my Daytona and voila need part no8 from Fowler’s, drill and tap when frame back.

Thanks Matt for the heads up I’ll keep an eye on it when done, if I can get anywhere near the standard you and the other master builders on here do I’ll be very happy.

Found the broken lug off the oil tank, so had a go at plastic welding after reading a post on here.

Collected the vapour blasted cases, barrels and carbs from F&J vapour blasting , website pictures look good but when you see them in the flesh absolutely unreal can’t believe how good they look seems a shame to put oily bits in might put a glass top on and use it as a coffee table.

Be a shame to paint them
One thing I’ll say is get the carbs stripped and washed out sooner rather than later
I left a set for a couple of weeks a few years ago and they were a nightmare to clean up inside

Matt, Thanks for the tip keep them coming this is my first 2 stroke engine build. Carbs are stripped just plonked the bowls on for photo think Mark has ultrasonic cleaned them, took a risk on them cause they’re a bit corroded inside might be scrap yet if they are I’ll try and make a beer pump out of them to go with my bbq, won’t be painting cases or barrels just the head.
