Well the wheels decision is made
One thing that was playing with my head about the spoked wheels was the drum rear brake.
If I spent a fortune getting them laced up then changed my mind they wouldn't be much other use and i thought the huge drum with the 17 inch wheel may look daft
The solution...
...Just bought a gs1000 spoked hub so alloy rims here we go π
Now where was that front hub spondon was selling π

Can you believe after the hassle with DVLA and the rz that I posted the v55/5 (exact same scenario with purchase and paperwork as the rz but it doesn't have an mot or in fact has any chance of getting an mot) for the GT750 last Wed 15th and got a letter today (Fri 24th) saying the reg application had been approved and is AUR ***M and a v5 will follow
So I posted on the 15th, they received it the 16th and the letter is dated the 22nd. That's 3 working days
Was 6 bloody weeks the last time
Happy days π

Glad you have opted for spoked wheels it will look fab and will prob be lighter than the alloys you were toying with my mate up here has a z900 old model and a few yr ago he binned the chrome rims and got wider alloy rims on and it transformed the bike totally .

Ffs have you no finished this thing yet I could put a picture up of how it looks now but then it would be the same pic as when it rolled out the van and got leant against the wall π The v5 arrived this morning so I can start stripping and punting bits π Steve

Hi Steve i was looking for Honda disc brake info and i found it on a site from ISR. if you go onto there site the make hubs for modern braking setups. It could be of interest for you. Those hubs are lovely, cheers for the heads up I downloaded the price list but God knows what currency it is in as the hubs are in the 1000's I've just spent Β£180 on a gs1000 rear hub/disc/sprocket carrier so ok there I'm planning on using the standard gt front hub as it is 17mm spindle so it will fit the 41mm Yamaha forks I'm going to use and has a Speedo drive Brake wise rgv 250 300mm floating discs should fit the hub I can then either use Grimeca classic 2 piston calipers or more modern Yamaha 4 pots On the 31k I'm building I needed 13mm disc spacers but the discs only had a 10mm offset The rgv discs are 19.5mm so spacers should be quite simple Steve
