Owner on here? Sorry but my special has cost me this much and is far more unique so is it worth £20K? don't think so.

Its minging, it does not resemamble a LC, don't get me wrong its a fine piece of engineering something I don't have the skills to achieve at all, but what's it for?

I’m sure he had fun building it and each to his own, but it will look ridiculous with a 3ft number plate holder to pass the MOT

Not my cup of tea either but I can appreciate the work that has gone into it. Not sure about the rear suspension though, the angle of the rear shock is too flat and will actually result in a decreasing rate as the suspension compresses. The mounting on the rear swingarm needs to be much higher. As already said, the market will decide what it's worth but I am sure it will be nowhere near 15k!

Isn't building a hybrid Personal, you build something you like, You don't build it for the masses! if we did we would all have the same boring Standard bikes.. I like the bike but Not 'everything' about it, Colour combo etc, I'm sure there is someone out the who likes everything about it.. May be not the price but Sellers want top money buyer's want lowest price...
Fair play to him if he wants £15k for it.. if he gets anything close good on him..Lets face it even if it was up for allot less someone buying it would still want money off!! time will tell tho...
The add dose say the bike will be complete before sale..

No, fair play to the chap . A lot of time and money has gone into this bike . If this was your only way of making a living its a big risk . Me I clean for a living and these bikes are just a hobby . As some one has already said it will sell, and that is how the world is . It's a special and built to the owners/builder's vision.

Chris is a member on here, and this bike has a build thread in the resto section. Chris has the skills and vision to build something very different, and I like that. He is able to build it and then advertise it for a price that he chooses. Whether it gets that price is dependant on finding the right buyer - yes the pool of potential buyers will be small but that's the risk you take if you stray from the norm, and it only takes one person with the money and the desire to own such a bike, and it will sell. If not, then you rethink the price. I'm sure we've all spent far too much money building bikes, and it's normal to lose money come sale time. What grips my shit is when greedy wasters sell unusable crap for vastly inflated prices This is at the opposite end of the scale, and if it's cost him 15k to build, I don't blame him trying to recoup his costs. It wont set a precedent on ebay as there isn't another one like it, so I say good luck mate, and whatever price you achieve, I hope you'll put the money towards another special "special" Dusty

Nobody has questioned his motivation or his ability, everyone has their ideas of what makes a bike personally I am not keen but I love old school. I also would be very surprised if it makes that money. I have built my interpretation of my ideal some like it some don’t, mine owes me £15k plus then time spent building it. I would never expect it to make that back, but I built it for me.

I just withdrew the deposit on this bike after negotiating £13.5k. Yesterday on the day of mot I asked to check reg details against the bike to find that the engine numbers had been ground/filed down to nothing. The owner telling me this that this is normal and after confering on the forum, DVLA and police , it is ok to sell it !! Was I expecting to much , are most engines on these bikes missing??? He told me I can buy the stamps and do the engine numbers myself !!!

LOL, the blokes a nutter for sure if he said that. Run away as fast as you can!
It is not ok to not have an engine number at all. And... you cant just stamp any one you fancy. The law has something to say about that practice.

If they are new casings and never been stamped then fine, but if the numbers have been ground off to hide the identity, then there's only one reason to do that . I'd certainly not be buying a bike for £13.5k with the engine numbers ground off
