Generally they charge a small percentage 1 or 2 percent they do show the fees on the site it is dependant on item type and then a listing fee so it depends on what you’re selling how much it sells for also whether you set a reserve etc. Other thing to watch is the price they charge for postage, I now let it go through their post service just easier, print label at home you’re charged through PayPal drop off n go at post office

I recently sold a load of parts on ebay, I used my Hermes as a delivery co. that way i can control it and i always had a signed for package. The payment was via paypal and i sold around £300 quids worth of stuff. my fees where £30. Sometimes they do a £1 selling fee so that will work out cheaper. So in essence if you factor in 10% that will include all of it. Ebay are very clever as lets say you sold something for £20 and the postage cost was £10 as it was a large item and it costs you £10 to post it. Ebay will charge you for the item and postage which is a little unfair as you have not profited from that . SO you have to put £11 postage to cover their fees.
They do a special offer to sell a vehicle as well. I sold a £4000 grand bike and it cost me £50 for their fees.

don't forget if you get paid by paypal then they take their share as well, so it works out more like 15% on sale price. I always assume for every £100 of stuff sold, I end up with approx £85 if paid by paypal, although these days I tend to wait for the £1 selling fees weekends - which there is one this weekend ironically........

As said a good 10% selling fee plus 3.5% PayPal
Only benefit is stuff usually makes a higher price
As said wait for a £1 selling fee offer
Make sure you put pics from every angle in the listing so no complaints
Always use an insured signed for service for post
Don't use Parcelforce as bike parts are not covered if damaged or lost. I use UPS via interparcel
I never use Hermes as they have lost too many things for me. Luckily I was the buyer so got my money back
They also only do 3 attempts to deliver before returning which depending on which agent gets it can be crap.
Like 3 attempts over 2 days at a weekend when I was away or 3 am attempts on consecutive days when out working.
They have got better with their tracked signed stuff which gives you an option to divert but I just don't trust them anymore as they have previously said I'd signed for something which was missing. Luckily I had a fuel receipt for miles away at the time they said I signed to prove I didn't.
Oh and if you really are paranoid sign parts using a sharpie so it is visible in the pics (wipes off with hand gel)
Let's them know you can tell if they say it arrived broken that it ain't yours
Can you tell I've sold on eBay Before 😁
Steve

I never sell anything in eBay unless I get a "£1 Max Selling Fees" Offer. I reckon I get at least one or two a month and got another one today valid till Monday.
That way it's free to list, £1 selling fees, plus the Paypal if it's not a Cash on Collection item.

I set a calendar reminder for 30 days and end them all before they end and automatically renew. Don't need to often though, as you usually get another offer before the 30 days is up, so I just end and re-start for another 30 days. It's a dirty trick though, they're basically hoping you don't notice the note about auto relisting with full Final Value Fees

The ebay £1 max selling offer seems to be every two weeks and runs for four days - Friday to Monday. Easy enough to put items on with the offer then if they haven't sold after four weeks end the listings and start again with new ones so you don't get caught out with the jump to 10% fees.

Did you go back to your blocked list and check he's in there correctly ?. I know that if you spell the username wrong it doesn't tell you, it just doesn't add it

He wasn’t on it but when you cancel it says they won’t allow the same user to bid on your item
